He was actually KO'd with an overhand right after Marquez displaced his upper body towards the left. Marquez consistently turns Pacquiao to get lead foot positioning and always ducks his head towards the left outside of both Manny's right jab and straight left. Being short allows him to trick Manny into misjudging the distance by an inch and replace his upper body with a right hand just like that. Mayweather on the other hand would rather back-step and use his upperbody to set up his counters, leaning on his back foot to fire off a straight right at long range. He's bigger, faster, stronger, but Manny has trouble with Marquez because JMM throws from a low angle, changing levels and using constant lateral movement and combination punching. Floyd simply fights differently. And I'd say his guard is more vulnerable to a straight left. Floyd might still be able to beat him, but it's not evident from the Marquez fights. Bradley's faster than Marquez and has a great counter straight right himself, where was it? Neutralized by Manny's movement.
Would still wanna see the fight feels gutting that as fans we missed out on what would have been one of the biggest fights ever
Youre right man, my bad :good I was thinking after the Cotto fight, not sure why I thought it was 08 atsch Thanks for the correction
Of course. Styles make fights and they're still 2 of the elite fighters this generation. Pacquiao beats Floyd, I have no doubt about it. Floyd doesn't like opening up and get hit, Pacs workrate will make Floyd into a shell and give Pac the victory via UD. If floyd wants to risk it, prepare to get wobbled and knocked out.
Pac hasn't had a strong, consistent workrate for his last several fights. Margarito was the last time I can remember him being extremely active. Take that away and the fight loses its luster. They should have fought right after Pac beat Cotto.
He was much more active in the last fight against Marquez and showed signs that he still has hunger left in him. Let's put it this way, give Cotto Manny's speed, combinations and power the night he fought floyd and he would have won.. easily. The slow, 2 punch combo throwing Cotto still busted floyd up. The key with Manny is his combinations, weird angles and speed. Floyd will not be able to handle that, much less at this stage in his career.
it's like having sex with kim kardashian or the like. you know she's past her prime, is annoying, and the thought of her bed mileage makes you cringe. but you still would. if you wouldn't, you're part of a minority group.
He had a bloody nose........... Is that what "busted up" means to you? If that is the case, boxers get "busted up" every time they step in the ring. It's boxing people. A bloody nose isn't crap. People need to stop acting like it was a big deal. Floyd was more "busted up" against Carlos Hernandez at 130 pounds than he was against Cotto. And Cotto "busted up" Floyd so bad he won what? 3 rounds?
I'll tell you why I'm very interested in the Manny - Floyd fight: 1. Manny Pacquiao looked more impressive in the JMM fight than he has done against Bradley and Mosley. He looked incredibly dangerous and fast. 2. If Manny Pacquiao can beat someone like Rios, and then someone in September...and I've witnessed him stand and trade and lose his fear of getting knocked out (PROVIDING HE DOESN'T LOSE HIS SPEED ETC. ANY MORE THAN MAYWEATHER WILL BY 2014), then a Cinco de Mayo Floyd Mayweater-Manny Pacquiao will be an amazing fight to watch. I KNOW all of you suckers would love to watch the fight under the two conditions I stated.
