Showtime did 3 million PPVs last year with Floyd fights alone. So far this year they are on the same track, I'd hardly call that a flop but we'll wait and see what happens in September. And HBO didn't dump Floyd, he left because Showtime had a better offer. And the May 3rd card wasn't that great, big names (Broner and Khan have done squat lately though) against mediocre opposition. Pacquiao vs Bradley II was better on paper than that whole card IMO and it reportedly still did less.

I've heard that and it might be true, but what are the numbers? I'm curious. Because they aren't "bad", probably just not as good as expected. I know his deal is worth like $250 million or something, they did over $150 million on the Canelo fight alone.

Showtimes viewership is up but it has nothing to with Floyd. He fights on ppv, not on showtime. So why would a bunch of people sign up for a channel if he's not even fighting on it? They signed up because showtime has the best fights. Sure Floyd helped their brand but people aren't going to sign up just because he's signed to them when they can't even watch him on it.

And yes they did well on the canelo fight but this one bombed so bad it's a wash.

Seriously, where do you get this "*****s believe it's all Floyd's doing." BS. It takes two to tango and make a good PPV. Look at Pacquiao for example, vs Rios he did 475k, vs Bradley he did 800k. Mayweather vs Guerrero did 875k, vs Canelo it was 2.2 million. I know you're trying to discredit Floyd and since you can't compare Pac's numbers you call 800k fights flops? You need help. Both Floyd and Pac are doing good numbers, but there opponents are limited now. So their numbers drop, and rightfully so.

And obviously Mayweather is the biggest draw.
He beat Pacquiao (the 2nd biggest draw) against Oscar, Cotto, Mosely, and Marquez. ALL of those fights did higher than Pacquiao's against the same opponent. So it's not all Floyd's doing, but he's definitely the biggest attraction.

Pacquiao vs Bradley II didn't flop IMO, but it should've been higher than the first fight.

Look at all the hurt feelings in this thread because Celine Dion is a bigger draw and more important than Pac :rofl

Alex he was referring to the showtime viewership being up, not the ppv numbers. 800k buys is a flop when you're giving a guy 32 mil and they are major events, you do understand the concept of a budget right?
