The problem with Williams at this point is that his chin is cracked. I love Williams but you saw it coming since the Cintron fight. He was very weary of Cintron's power. Shiiit, you could see it as far as the Mathessye fight when he took 3 left hooks and froze up like a deer in headlights. Paul will need to overhaul and improve his defense a 100 times over. And he needs to fight at 147.
His management wanted to keep him away from 154 and up. They wanted him back at 147. Paul's chin was showing signs of being cracked. In the first round against Martinez in there first fight Martinez hurt him bad. He was getting cracked in the gym. And against Cintron you did not see the same confidence in him, is what I'm saying.
I understand dude :good I just thought it wasn't the best way to explain it as i think any fighter should be weary of the opponent's power.
"Overrated"...SMFH, I guess he should have fought old washed up bums, so that he could say he never lost, then people would say he's overrated. I mean he lost a fight to a damn good fighter, who he's already beaten and gave a rematch...either way Paul earned his respect in the ring and I feel "Overrated is a bit of a stretch"...num sayin.
Come on bro.. did Paul ask anyone to overrate him?? The dude couldn't land fights with anyone because of his size and his output.. Yeah it was dumb and pointless for him to keep chasing around Pacman and Mayweather when he knew he couldn't get the fights.. but everyone else was avoiding him... AND.. I still think he can beat the likes of Bundrage, Angulo, Kirkland, and other fighters who aren't the best boxers... also Foreman, Rhodes and such
I wish there were more Paul Williams', guy is willing to fight all opposition in 3-4 weight classes and comes out guns blazing every time. His defense needs much improvement I know, but he makes no excuses and has a great attitude to match. Hope to see him back in the mix in the near future.
Kirkland? The Kirkland before he went to jail? Hell no! PW won't do anything to that Kirkland but it would of been a good fight while it lasted. We might get to see it though in the future.
that's great, man!! I have great admiration for any fight fans who stay loyal to favorite fighters especially after loss. I hope PW does make it back.
