Name me one other HW champion that took on his #1 contender on a few days notice. He had trained for a warm up fight with Kirk Johnson with Vitali on the undercard with the idea of the two winners meeting. He knew Kirk was having problems & wouldnt be at his best. When Kirk backed out injured Lennox said to save the card being scrapped I'll face Vitali now. He did & was hardly 80% ready but he STILL beat Vitali TKO 6 as we all know. Wlad went into hiding immediately& there was no one else & lennox did what his family wanted & retired at Exactly the right time
    End of Story

He RETIRED after a long career. And he stopped Vitali. I don't call that a duck by any stretch.

Floyd vs Conor, the fact that the fight was considered a legitimate fight and not just an exhibition, and that floyd got 50-0 off beating a debut boxer agonizes me to no end

So what percentage was Vitali ready? He was scheduled to fight on the undercard against the great Cedric Boswell and now he is fighting the heavyweight champion. Was he ready? The point I was trying to make was that Vitali gave him a life and death struggle and lost. But Lewis acted like a petulant child in the post-fight interview, even to the point of arguing with an old man. People used to rag on about Ali and his mouth and the way he would tear an opponent up pre-fight. But watch his post fight interviews. Even when it was a guy he slaughtered he would give him props even if they weren't warranted. Again, Lewis could have done himself a real favor in going on with class.

Taylor looking away from Steele and didn't respond. Duva and Taylors fault not Steele's.

Many of the Pacquiao fanatics made a right holy show of themselves after he lost to Mayweather, and continue to do so to this day. Particularly grated me how they repeatedly pushed these slow-mo videos of the fight and created a new way of watching boxing which was apparently necessary to see who really won. Oh, you didn't watch the fight in slow motion, with one eye shut, while hanging upside down and playing a harmonica? Then you're obviously just a Flo-mo Mayweather nuthugger who was deceived by Floyd's cowardly running and you don't really understand boxing! Watch it properly and you'll see that Manny won easily!
