Why fight in over there in front of 15K when you can make history and fight in front of 100K

Charles Martin got a bigger purse ($5m) defending IBF against AJ (in his 16th fight!) a bigger purse than DW has every made in any of his 40 fights! DW’s CV is a complete embarrassment. AJ draws crowds of 75-90,000 vs Wilders 9,000 in AL and 19,000 is NYC. WTF who do think needs the fight more?? 40 fight WBC HW champ who’s never had a PPV!!! Lmfao. Who has Wilder fought in 40 fights only 50 year old Ortiz who nearly KOed him. You’re right Eddie wants to build up to the big fight on new DAZN platform in US and it to be at Wembley in April which will then hold 100k. Wilder deserves 30% and should be damn grateful to get paid $15m as he’s never got even $5m. The big fight is AJ /Fury. Deontay panics v AJ does the windmills and gets Ko’ed viciously in 4th. AJ hits way way harder than Ortiz. AJ has defended /unified against 5 current top 20 HWs in 21 fights Wilder ? 1 in 40 fights!! They’ve done a phenomenal job protecting Wilder as he is technically embarrassing so need to make sure the last payday is big. I’m sure he’ll get $20m at end of day as there won’t be a rematch. I don’t like the Breazeale fight he’s a half decent fighter I can see an upset after him seeing how hurt DW was against the ancient Cuban.

U.S. boxing revenue is driven by PPV not live gate. Mayweather vs Pac and Mayweather vs Mcgregor, Mayweather vs Canelo, non of these bouts drew more than 30,000 in attendance, yet the crushed anything Joshua has ever did at Wembley .

Come one why switch the debate to PPV sales, that's an even worse statistic in favour of Joshua over Wilder.

    Joshua sold millions of PPV's.

    Wilder sold 0 PPV's.

There's no real guarantee that Joshua/Wilder does well on PPV in the US as neither have fought on US PPV. Maybe it would do 400K best which would be a record for a boxer on their US PPV debut. Even cash cows like De La Hoya and Mayweather did less than 400K on their PPV debuts.

I’m not talking about revenue, I’m talking about going down in history as drawing a 100,000 attendance event.

50 million to fight in the US was a good offer. But once I heard AJ's referee excuse I knew he didn't want that fight. He is scared of getting knocked out cold in front of the world, and that is just how it is. I wish AJ would show more confidence in himself and back himself to knock Wilder out.

The difference is that when Lennox was active the Heavyweight scene was ruled by Americans - except for Lennox himself.

From the time he turned pro in 1989 to the time he retired in 2004 there was only one other non-American who held the IBF, WBA or WBC belt and that was Frank Bruno (the WBO has a more flattering history for non-American during that period because it was held by the Italian Francesco Damiani, two Brits in Herbie Hide and Akinwande, two Ukranians in Wlad and Vitali Klitschko and a South African in Corrie Sanders, but it was very much considered a secondary title at the time)

Since 2004, however, the heavyweight scene has been more European dominated. Vitali Klitscho held the WBC Belt twice while Wlad held everything but the WBC, Valuev the WBA twice, Chageav was a WBA Champion, Maskaev held the WBC, Haye the WBA, Povetkin the WBA (Regular) and now Joshua holds everything but the WBC.

In the last 14 years there have only been three American who have held the WBA, IBF or WBC belt - Rahman the WBC in 2005, Wilder the WBC in 2015 and Martin the IBF in 2016 (and the WBO has only had one American champion during that period when Shannon Briggs won it in 2006).

Lennox had to go to America because that's where the big boys played, that's where everything important in the division happened, Joshua doesn't because America isn't the dominant force in the Heavyweight scene anymore.

Lennox Lewis was nowhere near the draw in the UK which AJ is. They are not the same situations at all.

Showtime wants to strangle the newborn DAZN at birth, that is the reason Finkel stalled on the contract. Apparently Showtime have been low-key threatening US fighters that if they sign with DAZN, they will never get another contract.
