He never held it to begin with. Mundine and Echols were fighting for the vacant WBA belt, which became vacant after Ottke beat Mitchell and unified. The same scenario happened when Kessler unified against Beyer and Soliman and Mundine fought for the vacanted title.
That's very disappointing to hear about Drews. I thought he might be able to get himself into the mix a bit. As for Green, Showtime likes him and likes the idea of a beltholder in its main events (HBO doesn't really care). Showtime has had a hard time getting decent fights for Chad Dawson, and if Johnson and Tarver don't work out for April, it wouldn't surprise me for him to get offered a Dawson unification fight. I'd make him a longshot to win, but it would be another good payday and a great opportunity. Probably best that this particular bout was not televised, from the sounds of it.
Fact is mundine has never NEVER beaten a real world champion to win his titles:deal The two times he's won titles he's beaten middle weights, echols had 1 fight at 168 and when he fought Sam for the "regular" title Sammy had fought once at 168 in 5 years!atsch But lets face it most choc fans no **** all about boxing,he could pull out a romper room title and his fans would think he's king of the world
This is correct. I thought Green went abit over the top saying "shove the interim title up ur ass" Fact....... Mundine clearly boxed ur ears of Greeny
Not to mention he is approaching middle age and he carried on like a 20 year old bogan, i think his wife even looked a bit embarassed.
I thought he was saying that in regards to his own interim title, having now acquired 'the' title? If I interpreted that wrong then yes thats very much so out of line..
Next you'll be telling us he beat Lester Ellis:hi: I was just saying Mundine has never beaten a world champion to win either of his titles.
No, you weren't "just" saying that... You made a specific point that the fighters he fought to get his belts were of the middleweight variety. Need I remind you of that infamous post: :deal but you're right. Mundine hasn't officially taken a title from anyone. Methinks he will soon though from Green. To me it wont mean much if he gets Greens title though because 1. He's already beaten Green convincinly before (if it had been a close fight it'd be a different story) and 2. Green got given his belt on a platter. If Mundine fights green and wins, to me he'd have advanced little on the world stage, in any ranking etc.
Maybe u are right  Can anybody confirm what he said and in what context it was said - i.e was it about Mundine shoving his pretend title up his rectum or Green referring to the pretend belt he got beating Lucas :huh
Fact is Mundine should be fighting at middleweight, he's a natural middleweight while your wet dream is a natural light-heavy, now tell me get jabbed by danny, who won the fight between the two and what does that tell you?
Danny was talking about the previous WBC interim belt he held quote "ive been an interim champion before you can shove that right up your arse!"
