If you are not Floyd or Pac you'd better off fighting in Europe. Less risky more money.

    You are ****ing clueless man.

Fighters make money based on what revenue they can bring in.

This is a business.. not a charity.

A fight brings in revenue from very few spots.. TV, Gate and Sponsors.

Depending on what that amounts too is how much total revenue there is to split between the fighters.

You also have bills to pay: the officials, judges, venue and physicians on top of basic promotion.

This isn't rocket science, it's simple economics 101.

Floyd makes so much because he generates so much. Same with why Oscar, Tyson, Pac, and the Klitschko's can get paid so much. It's because they bring in so much revenue.

You can't pay Stiverne money that's not being brought in. He's only worth what he can draw.

Stiverne and Arreola are not exactly big time fighters are they??

this looks just about right for a fighter with his following and resume.

he'll earn more in his next fights though i'm sure.

it was a paper belt, they could of raised a higher license fee.
but at the end of the day a chance to win the belt was worth it for even a hundred k, Im sure now to defend it he will earn more
$2-3m in a unification fight against Klitschko
or $1m + to defend it against someone like wilder.

    :yep

    What a stupid thread.

They've made their way to the top. Manny and Floyd sure as **** didn't get paid 25mil when they fought Ledwaba or Hernandez.

I think Stiverne and Don King will want to fight Wlad next. That is where the big money is now. The fight would sell in the states and Wlad's team which are notoriously stingy will probably gladly give Stiverne a huge chunk of the money. Wlad wants to unify badly. Why fight Wilder for similar risk and chump change?

Even Leapai got about 2 million. :)

On a more serious note, you can't expect much more of two contenders without much publicity fighting for a vacant paper title which basically doesn't even mean anything as long as there is a recognized undisputed champion around. This is like Povetkin holding a regular WBA title, except that he was making much more money because he is much bigger name than those two.

I get what you are saying but this is the coveted green belt, I believe the oldest and perhaps the most prestigious belts, the WBC version. Vitali was very proud to win this version of the title and I suspect that Wlad wants it bad. I think Mr. Stiverne is going to get a money offer from the Klitschko camp that even Don King can't turn down.

Takes some people 2 years to make that. I am sure his next fight will be a 7 figure purse.
