Ok and did I say Mosley was his best fight? You just ****ed yourself in the butt, basically that's all Hatton has to show for, a old Kostya while Cotto has a Mosley, Judah, Torres, Clottey and many more. Cotto has only fought 2 people that has had a defeat before.

i thought you weren't basing this off of names? judah was coming off 2 straight losses when he fought cotto (including baldiomor), torres had never fought for a belt before cotto and wasn't even top 5 at 140 at the time, and cotto should be expected to beat fighters on clottley's level. and an "old" koysta compares to an "old" mosely.

Those aren't names as you can see. You just proved my point. These were people in the making, people who were not yet recognized... you fail

Cotto is much better than Hatton. Thing is, that's not saying much.

Before saying Sugar Shane was old when he fought Cotto you have to go and see what he did to MArgacheato

this thread is still going, wow. well, i haven't read all the posts unfortunately (there's a lot and it's sunday) but i will say i can't believe there's really an argument in favour of hatton. I LOVE ricky, i really do. As a personality and a fighter. But Cotto is in a different class. I mean, you can compare resume or number crunch any way you want. Watch them fight. One is much better.

    Let me help you out.

    Mosley is better then Kostya.

Quintana is better then Coillazo imo

Clottey is way better then Urango

Judah is better then shot in the dark coming up in weight Castillo

Yup Hatton tko Paulie in the 11th while Cotto beat a broken cheek bone Paulie but guess what? Cotto tko Maussa in the 8th round when Maussa was undefeated while Hatton tko Maussa in the 9th round.

^^^^So again Cotto resumes that he beat is way better then Hatton resumes that Hatton beat.

If you're talking about prime-for-prime, there isn't much between Hatton and Cotto, but Cotto is better, IMO.

If you're talking about the 2009 versions, Cotto is so far ahead of Hatton, its not even funny.

Cotto is prime, Hatton is well over the hill, and arguabley shot.

i think it comes down to at 140, cotto went on a great run where he had impressive performances against very solid competition. this trend then continued at 147. Hatton has really only had 3 impressive wins against good-great competition: Kosta, Maussa (who isn't that good at all) and Paulie. Castillo was not an impressive win but it got him mayweather so it did it's job. Ricky just hasn't been stellar when he steps up. Cotto is.

Cotto obviously has way more depth in his resume.

Cotto beat the one great fighter he fought (Mosley) and Hatton has one win and two brutal KO losses against the 3 great fighters he faced.

I think the moral of this thread is:

Keep acting like Cotto is that much better than Hatton.
