Funny how since Floyd came a long? legacy dont mean ****:rofl :rofl :rofl Any "fan" talking that mess? Is full of **** and PATHETIC!! yes they fight for money!! GUESS WHAT MOTHER****ERS??? The legacy"more meaningful" fights come with paydays as well:yep Often the LARGEST PAYDAYS!! Sorry for that moment of TRUTH IN BOXING, you can resume polishing Floyd's knob now:good
imo pavlik stays were he is untill we see if he can clean house. Why make the jump when you dont need to he is a good fighter no doubt but has a lot more to prove IMO
Hopefully Pavlik stays at middleweight long enough to unify the titles - then he can do whatever he wants at the higher weights. However - I can understand if Pavlik wanted to move up to try to secure a fight with Hopkins, Jones or Calzaghe before they all retire and he loses that opportunity forever. Perhaps if Winky Wright and Tito Trinidad return to middleweight - there would be enough potential marquee match ups there to reward him for staying in the division.
spoken like a true door nob. **** mony the bad state that boxing is in now, was done way before for Floyd came along, if you don't know that then your ignoring the truth. why because you don't see fights like Herns vs Duran Herns Vs Hagler Hagler Vs the beast Curry Vs McCallum Currry Vs marlion Starling al of these fight were on major networks ABC , NBC and CBS for FREE in the 80s the network was the stage for these great fights, not any more, it really hard for boxer to get exposer that made there legacy mean something what good is your legacy when no one is watching. You try to make those same fights today and it would be hard press to get the lawerys, mangers, promoters and networks to agree on what color ink to use on the contracts, that the reality of sport TV today if you don't see that your ******ed, which you are. hell I even remeber when I was 12 a fighter call Johnny the heat Verdarosa who use the fight regularly on NBC and ESPN when boxing was big on Television but you wouldn't know that would young gup?? anyway leave it to you to interject Floyd in a thread that has nothing to do with him. IF more meaning full fights or legacy fights ment more money then why arnt they happening on a regular basis?? why arn't they being made now ?!?! biggest reason Money and Airplay.
Any fan that ignores this truth need to put down the crack pipe and wake the **** up !!! Show me one fight to date that was not made for the money ?!? When is the last time you saw a meaningful legacy fight ???!!!
It's pretty simple, the guy is like 6'2 1/2, he can't make 160 anymore, he 25, 26 years old, he is not a kid anymore. He shouldn't have to kill himslf anymore to fight at 160, eventually at one of these fights, he wont be able to make weight, no fighter want to lose his title on the scale.
^^^^ Pavilk said himself in a post fight interview [don't recall which fight] he has a hard time making weight. A fighter who is 6'2" isn't going to make 160 for an extended period of time without punishing himself.
I hope Pavlik can stay a little while longer at middle to clean it out there. Fights in 2008 # 1 Arthur Abraham # 2 John Duddy # 3 Winky Wright # 4 Segio Mora In med 2009 I think it be time to move up for Kelly as I don't think Pavlik will able make 160 by that time # 1 Felix Sturm # 2 Giovanni Lorenzo # 3 Joe Calzaghe # 4 Mikkel Kessler Pavlik might move up sooner as they might offer him so much money to fight Calzaghe he can't turn it down or if Pavlik finds in the Taylor rematch that feel much stronger at 166,:deal
Agreed I believe he should stay at 160, assuming he can make weight, and establish a legacy there. If he beat Abraham, Sturm, Wright, and some other top contenders, then he should move up. He's not ready for Kessler or Calzaghe.
:happy well said and exactly right.... finaly some one who is right and not saying things that i have no idea where they got it...
