You haven't educated me in any way shape or form. You've mentioned some machines, that's it.

Where in any of those videos does anyone use one of these "Russian Isokinetic machines"?

Considering that this your career, you might be interested in what they are.

    http://www.sportsciencelab.com/blog/tvitiello/why-accelerating-isokinetics-so-effective

Go to that site, and take a look at the machines they are using and then compare them to the machines on that site.

    Or just look them up.

It's your career. If you're passionate about what you do, you should always look for an edge.

This is about these particular guys we're referring to earlier in the thread. You said they were using Russian Isokinetic machines. Where?

Russian Isokinetic machines are computerized. They give a specific amount of resistance in each phase of a lift. The guys in the video were using bands and some guys applying pressure, completely different to an Russian Isokinetic machines.

The guys in the videos are not using any Russian Isokinetic machines, so you bringing this up is entirely irrelevant.

    Sigh.

The machine being used 31 seconds into this video http://www.sportsciencelab.com/training-programs is the same machine being used at 1:18 of the first video shown on the first page of this thread.

It's your job to not only maximize your athlete's performance, but to mitigate risk.

I'm surprised you don't know about these already.

Don't be like dealt with. Dealt with is brain washed and stubborn.

And it's not a Russian Isokinetic machine...

    Again, irrelevant.

Just keep digging the hole, mate.

    And you know this how?

Where does it say the machines are all computerized? According to the site, "...if you push with 300 pounds of pressure, the Accelerating Isokinetic machine would match it, but only during the concentric phase. If you push with 40 pounds of pressure then the Accelerating Isokinetic machine matches your 40 pounds of pressure."

Just a moment ago, you knew nothing about them, but now you know everything about them.

Why am I arguing with you again?

What a waste of time. If you watched the video on the website I introduced you to, you would find the workouts being utilized by the trainer on the videos on the front page are similar if not essentially the same.

You're more concerned with "winning" an argument then learning anything new.

    This is your job.

If you're not doing your job, someone else will.

    Because I can read...

    Common sense. (See below)

Yes. The machine matches the pressure you exerted. That takes a few electronics, not just a rubber band or some guy applying pressure.

I don't know if you know about the Internet?

You mentioned Russian Isokinetic machines. I Googled the term as I didn't know anything about them. I was linked to the page you gave me about 10 minutes before you gave it to me.

You like making yourself look foolish?

    Again, irrelevant.

Not really. I'll look into these machines. My point is from start to finish everything you've said has been completely irrelevant to the conversation you jumped into.

    No it isn't...

Someone else will do my job for me? Nice.

There is nothing special about isokinetic training, it's often used in labratory studies looking at mechanistic variables and has very little transfer or relevance to actual performance. Why you say 'Russian' as if it's some esoteric Soviet secret is beyond me.
Athletes don't use isokinetic training because it's expensive equipment and provides a very poor training effect due to it's non-specificty to how muscles work during athletic movements. Isokinetic training doesn't have the same results and it provides very little benefit to anyone, other than maybe inactive elderly rehab patients (rehab clinics are the only place you'll see isokinetic machines outside of research labs). There's nothing progressive about it, it's been around for a long time and has no use for the athletic population. I could explain the physiology behind it for you but I know you don't listen and you're always searching for something new to try and back up your idiotic views.

Lifting weights properly decreases your chance of injury, that's a fact backed by the evidence.

Right, in 1980 when they were invented, they were hooked up to a computer.

Cleary, you can't set it up by using a pressure valve.

Please show me that Russian Isokinetic machines MUST use a computer to properly function.

    That's what you said.

    PROVE it.

As a matter of fact, using elastic band is an example of an isokinetic exercise.

It may use a computer to help calibrate it to the exact pressure, but it's not necessary. You can manually calibrate it.

Again, why am I wasting my time arguing with an idiot???

An anecdote means nothing, and if you understand just the basics of the neuromuscular system you'd understand why what he is doing is nothing special, it's just taking something simple and presenting it in a gimmicky and less effective way.
You don't know anything about Ruslan's periodisation. There's every chance that he always trains the same way so doing this training that is slightly different allowed his body to recover and performance was enhanced. That different training could've been literally anything.

And there are very few boxers I'd call elite athletes, certainly not Ruslan.

I see, you don't even know what 'isokinetic' means. Everyone stop talking to this moron, he's wasting your time.

I agree that some weights do this, but why would you suggest that people who box utilize barbell squats over the hex bar deadlift?

I'm not looking for the new thing, I'm looking for a way to maximize both performance and longevity.

For now, I'll accept that the hex bar deadlift fits this criteria, but that doesn't mean people should be satisfied with that.

They should always look for ways to improve.

So your gimmick is rehab focused then? Stop saying it has a use for athletic populations because it clearly doesn't/couldn't. I know what a vertical treadmill is going to do for an athlete, worse than nothing.. they will be detrained and wasting their valuable time.
Do you have anything ahead of press to show us then?

    It's the same principle.

However, I do agree you're that you're right. According the definition, it says the exercises must be done at the same rate of speed.

Admittedly, it would be hard to calibrate this with bands alone, although, this is not my area of expertise.

I'm not an engineer, but neither are you.
