:rofl That sprinkling of opioids is definitely going to replace the need for Tyson Gay to lift heavy weights.
I'm also not a complete spastic like you, and unlike you I'm actually educated on these matters. This isn't a matter for engineers, it's not that complex and it's a matter of sports science. Basic biomechanics and the maths isn't anything extreme even if you wanted to waste your time with your pointless ideas.
The hex bar deadlift is only really useful for beginners and people who are learning to deadlift with a bar. Everything is individualized based on the athletes needs. Generally I prefer a high bar squat over a deadlift due to the trunk position and the more relevant intermuscular coordination pattern throughout the hips, knees, and ankles. Sure you always look to improve but it needs to be evidence based, you need to understand the basics and you don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. You don't have any of those three down, you're flopping around at the starting line going nowhere.
This is dogma, that you're preaching. Not everyone in the industry agrees with you. There are some renowned trainers that have abandoned the traditional barbell back squat. Since you're an expert, why don't you tell me why exactly the barbell back squat is superior to the hex bar deadlift for a boxer, and why you would recommend it. According to this study, This content is protected , it works the same muscles, so why increase the risk by recommending the barbell back squat? Couldn't someone just lift more weight on the hex bar and make practically the same improvements as you would make using the barbell squat? Why does a boxer need to use the barbell squat rather than the hex bar deadlift?
Strength training for athletes is about movements, not muscles. And it's not just about moving the most weight, it's about transfer to performance. Learn your basics, I've wasted enough time on you here.
Well, if that's the case, then why couldn't athletes just use kettlebells since they are practically the foundation of Gray Cook's Functional Movement System?
A "guy" (you are on a boxing forum), Ruslan fought arguably the best guy in Lucas in the weight division and put up a hell of a performance and lost. When an athlete is performing on the level Ruslan is I would listen to whatever they say very carefully because they know much better what works for them and what doesn't. Also it's funny to me you only mentioned Ruslan losing as discredible evidence but what about Donnie Niettes, who is ranked 2nd in the world in his division, or Rafael Dos Anjos who schooled and embarassed a p4p guy in mma a little over a month ago? I never wrote deadlifts were bad, I just feel there's a better approach to training, or at least one that's better for me and I wanted to share the resources I have with other people in case anyone else is curious. (I have been in this circus act since I was 6- the circus act being competitive sports) :hi:
You might be right, as in it's an old approach (how old is old?) presented in a new gimmicky way, but that might be what it takes to capture the attention of someone in their early twenties. (I am that person). But that approach also addresses a lot of issues and frustrations that I have from experience with traditional exercises. Injuries, stress, tension issues in the body. (my knees especially) Maybe others don't have the same issues that I have with training and other approaches work for them, but for me this is the step in the right direction.
Thanks for participating in this thread you've provided links (in all meanings) to interesting data which people/I can access or form a search of their/my own. ps. I don't mind people laughing at me :hey
To me Ruslan is at the top in the sport of boxing, Why not add some value/your opinion to this thread :hey on the actual topic.:smoke
What makes him an elite athlete? Btw, don't get tough mixed up with elite. Think carefully now. Fire away...
This is not the place for this discussion. Also to quote myself "there are elite athletes using this approach" never did I mention Ruslan was elite.:good I used him as an example because he's a popular boxer and I was more than impressed with his performance and conditioning against Matthyse. Can I ask you something brixton what does your training/ exercise routine/ regiment consist of?
The top of ANY sport is Elite status. Fact. At the minute? Everything. Complexes for time (think how MMA'ers/crossfitters train) Lots of accessory work Strength work (mainly DeadLifts) Rowing (Intervals) Push Up's (the only B/w move I bother with) You, what are you training?
