Absolutely, I think the weight draining was a cause for his really bad punch resistance too. He'll never be Oliver McCall, but he had no business at 135lbs.

It must have been , Khan is about my size and while Im not syaing I couldn't lose a pound or two to get to 135 I'd have to hack a leg off !

I've thought that for a while I just wish his team would start beleiving it and make a fight with someone with more than 5 KOs !

Funny that a year and a half ago the suggestion of Marquez-Khan was also outrageous, many of you said how can an elite fighter take un such a bum as Amir? You guys can't give Khan a break, can you?

The only chance that boxing has to survive is for the very best prime fighters of each division to be facing each other regularly.. Over the past 15 years or so, we've had way too many matches involving aging veterans ascending in weight to face bigger, stronger, and younger stars, resulting in either poor fights, mismatches, or sad endings.. Stars today are too protected, and are matched with older lesser foes a bit too often. I don't want to sound nastalgic, but in decades past, the best men of each division who were in their primes, met far more often. For example, if Julio Cesar Chavez and Meldrick Taylor were in their primes today, the fight would probably take about 5 years to make, and by the time they finally laced up, both would be past it, and probably would have picked up a loss or two along the way... We need to get back to the way things used to be...

JMM just went 12 rounds with Mayweather at 147. Khan, a rising star, fighting JMM at 140 where he is even better than at 147 is not a bad thing at all.

this fight, if it happens, would confirm that jmm has no business fighting above 135.

Hey, well look at your OP in that thread. Marquez didn't lose by a 116-112 decision, he got shut out.

Most people are of the opinion that he didn't handle extra weight well at all, and he wouldn't be given much chance above 135 at all now, against any of the top guys.

Dont play the "everybody is picking on Khan" line.

I'd agree at this moment that Khan-JMM is not an acttractive match up. Khan looked good and big at 140. JMM is aging and just got beat up pretty bad by Mayweather and is going to probably end up in another grueling fight with Diaz again. Unless JMM looks great and blows out Diaz while Khan struggles against a lesser fighter in July, then this fight has lost a lot of the appeal it had about a year ago.
