His performance. Was one of circumstance! The only reason Cotton heard the final bell is because of the 10 oz gloves! And it was the same with dela hoya. Mayweather doesn't punch hard enough for 154! Plain and simple. The huge gloves take away what little pop he does have not to mention the Sheild it gives his opponents. If they fought at 147 Floyd would have stopped cotto And dela hoya too. It was Arrogant and stupid of him to fight a bigger Guy with 10oz gloves knowing he can't punch. As for cotton if he tried that **** he did to Floyd against the top guys at 154 he'd get knocked out! He still can't take a punch! Somebody just needs to tell Floyd 147 is his limit!

While I think that is overstating the issue a bit, and I do think Cotto did well, he used his size to his advantage and still got soundly beaten.

Props to Cotto though for not folding, and for trying the whole way through. Not a big Cotto fan, but he did some decent things in there. :deal

Thread title potential not realized. Also use paragraphs.

Cotto has been overrated, but not because of gloves or weight. Because Mayweather is overrated by some naturally Cotto gets overrated.

No matter the historical evidence the illusion of an undefeated fighter has always been the strongest and most easily broken.
Undefeated just means not beaten on record yet.

Mayweather lost rounds to cotto and didn't knock him out like Pacquiao. Pacquiao is a different fighter and Mayweather losing rounds
automatically proposes someone to overrate cotto. Floyd was never supposed to do what Pac did to Cotto.

Regardless of how you rate Cotto against Floyd, Mayweather won. Personally i saw 3 rounds for Cotto at most 4.

Can I arrange for Cotto to punch you in the face twice. Once with 8oz Gloves, then Again with 10oz Gloves.

Then you can sit us all down and lecture us on the differances between each.

Cotto isnt overrated, Cotto is he who he is: a warrior. He don't back down from no body, who don't quit in a fight, hes a warrior, a true fighting-spirit. I'm glad you don't think Floyd cant fight at 154, because i feel this is his latest ploy on avoiding a shot with pacquiao. Pacman cant even make 147 (144 usually) so him making 154 is out of the question. If floyd continues to fight at 154, and claims that is his new weight and wont budge, will there ever be a mayweather-pacquiao megafight? or have we all been gettin our balls tickled for the past 5 years??
Although that would extremely shitty, and cowardice, maybe then he'll take a fight against Sergio at 154. Sergio is my boy.

Do you box? Obviously not because it what take a clueless person not to acknowledge the advantages and disadvantages between 10oz and 8oz gloves especially. When you have a bigger Guy fighting a. Smaller Guy. 1. Watch Floyd fight at any other weight then watch him fight at 154! Floyd punches through guards - under gaurds and around them! AT 154 THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE because he doesn't punch hard enough to break through the guards of bigger dudes. And this is where the gloves come into play. Its almost impossible to. Consistantly sneak a straight punch between the guard of a bigger man especially with 10 oz gloves, And you have no punching power. There's a reason floyd wanted 8oz gloves and there's a reason their called punchers gloves! Now if it was bertos right hand we were talking about it would be diffrent. Floyd couldn't. Touch cotto up like he wanted! So cotto didn't break down untill it was to late! Its just a replay of the dela hoya fight. Same circumstances same result. 147 8oz gloves he whoops them easy.
