That's not a bad fight, I expect Hopkins to beat Bute by UD and even drop his ass. Of course many people here now see Bute as Mike Tyson in his prime because he KO'd Andrade and I won't waste time arguing with those newbies who are also similar to Pavlik newbies and you all remember the excuses and how everyone ran back to their trailers when Pavlik was taken to elementary school.

I would like to see Hopkins retire but if he wants to keep going on then that's his choice. Bute is not someone impossible to beat and he was nearly taken out against Andrade in the first fight.

Yeah because Bute makes Dawson look like cherry pickings.

In terms of ability, Dawson shits on Bute. If you can't see that you need to immediately jump out of the window because most of your points are rubbish anyway.

You're underestimating it's potential as that would be promoted as a huge event and not just a huge boxing event...

Why do you think that the Jazz fest is so big now ? Cause there's more and more jazz fans..? NOPE !! It's because the people here crave big events and they are fundamentally followers that want to join in the fun !!

With that being said, if it is promoted the right way, yes I believe they could get 60 000 people in that stadium for such a fight..I have no doubts !!

you're right about Bute not being invincible...he's far from it. His best opposition is Andrade...a pretty shallow well to draw from.

But, this would be a much more dangerous fight than Pavlik. i was one of the few that felt the Pavlik/Hopkins matchup was not a fight Kelly could win.

hopkins would have a much tougher fight against a slick southpaw like Bute.

Dawson brings a bit more to the table than Bute in terms of pure skills but he doesn't **** on Bute...that's an exaggeration...

You're assuming...you shouldn't assume; it limits you, scar.

i stated that he would fight Dawson before Bute because of the risk/reward factor. i'm not discounting Dawson...he's a proven fighter...
They're both southpaws and both very capable of pulling off the upset.
Dawson just has more clout right now among boxing scribes.

I know you probably think this is rubbish, but try not to act like an elitist and you might see that it makes sense.

Doesn't the fact that we know Bute isn't invincible makes his fights more interesting?

Dawson getting overrated as always. The guys a boring feather fist. I think Hopkins would negate his jab and win a close decision (not bad for a 45 year old man)

Bute actually comes to fight. I still feel Hopkins would be able to beat him, mainly because he's flat-out BETTER than both fighters.

However, speedy 'boxers' gave him Hell in his 'prime', although a case can certainly be made for Hopkins being closer to his peak now than he was for Jones (green) and Taylor (weight-drained)

The fact is, age means **** all when you stay in shape, train your ass off, have massive knowledge of the Sweet Science and have a damn good chin :deal

To be honest, Dawson, like Paul Williams, is plagued with not big enough names to fight. Bute is in the super middleweight division, there are ENDLESS big names for him to pick from whenever the hell he wants which also means endless $. This easily means that Bute is definitely rated better recently than Dawson, even after beating Tarver twice, Adamek, Johnson twice Dawson is still unheard of. I see Bute is getting a lot more attention recently that Dawson, seriously was there ANY buzz for the Dawson/Johnson rematch?, NONE at all. This is a great shot for Hopkins to give Dawson a shot at the big time or he can give it to Bute who honestly doesn't need it as much as Dawson does. Dawson has no one to call out, Bute can sit relax and pick whoever the hell he wants.

He's better than Bute, that's all that matters. In terms of ability he is easily better than Bute in my opinion and far more dangerous. This doesn't mean Bute is easy, hell no just that Dawson is EASILY a more skilled and dangerous fighter based on style.

I'll have to disagree that he's easily more skilled... I'll take it as you probably apply that present judgement on a limited amount of times you have had the opportunity to see all that Bute brings to the table..

Based on style...you would get a close fight my friend, although I still pick Dawson to win.
