I want to get this out there RIGHT OFF THE BAT!!! These are NOT Hopkins fans saying this. Its either the people who do not like Hopkins...or do not like Calzaghe.

Hopkins greatest asset is his age when assessing his greatness. For him to be that good, at that age is why we as fans of his love him....we would not, could not use it in a negative manner.

Joe deserves the credit for beating Bernard Hopkins. Yes, he is 43...but he is still one of the toughest SOBs alive...and in all honesty...probably the 2nd best LHW in the world in terms of H2H ability (with Joe at numero uno). Joe got off the canvas...fell behind early and came back to win. That alone is great vs ANY man...let alone vs one of the best fighters of all time. Regardless of age.

Again, this is not Hopkins fans saying these things (tho we are saying Bernard performed PHENOMINALLY for his age...considering the man he fought and how close it was...again, positive...not taking ANYTHING AT ALL AWAY FROM JOE!!!!)...this is either people trying to degrade Bernard or Joe himself.

Please...Calzaghe fans...do not confuse the two.

And the rest of you saying this bs....SHUT THE **** UP!!!

sues2nd, I don't think anyone was more confident or biased (I use that more for me than you) of a Hops victory...

    I second your sentiment ENTIRELY.

Anyone who brings up age is a fool.

Joe won fair and square, and Hops had nothing to be ashamed of. Even at 43, not many beat him. Joe did. Most impressively by out-adjusting the cagey vet.

Old Man Hopkins humiliated Tarver and clearly beat Wright..........both of whome the Calzaghe haters claim would beat JC. I'm not sure I follow their logic, but hey

I like Hopkins and do not like Calzaghe, but I say with confidence that Calzaghe was closer to his prime that Hopkins and that age DID work against Hopkins. The only things that carried Hopkins through this fight is.. as you've said, Hopkins is a tough SOB ( although he wouldn't have to be very tough to take some of the shots Calzaghe was throwing in that fight ) and just overall craftiness. Hopkins is a man who just knows how to fight, without a doubt one of the craftiest fighters that ever lived.

He DID beat an older Hopkins but Joe is past his prime himself and B-Hop is the best 43 year old fighter I have ever seen. Even better than Archie Moore at his age. :good

Calzaghe is no spring chicken himself, but he looks like a young person. Hopkins is actually a better fighter than he was early in his career. I picked Hopkins to stop Tito and he did. Tarver? Wright?

I actually scored it for Hops, 6-6 with the knockdown. Admitted bias on my part. NO QUESTIONS about the decision. Fair & square, major props to Joe!!

I still think you're a *****, and more importantly, for someone as good at breaking down fights as you are, and for someone who still believes, given your abilities, your pro-Calzaghe bias is ridiculous, he impressed me.
    :good
Curious, being you were so bold that you said you'd give Calz NO CREDIT if he didn't shut Hops out, what is your honest assessment?

Do you see me promoting this win? I am very disapointed, we may being seeing the final decline of Calzaghe.

How do you figure? Please elaborate.

Also, are your reflexes, stamina, strength and speed greater now than they were five years ago, yes or no?
