Castillo has always been a slow starter, and Hatton simply never let him out of the gate. End of story. Castillo looked great against Corrales in their second fight, and there is no reason since then why he would have been shot all of the sudden now.

they all pick castillo to "kill" "crush" "destroy" Hatton and then when he loses, well he was shot.
I say **** em they can't take anything away from the Hitman that was a great performance!

Let me preface this by saying that Castillo gets hit with and knocked out by that body shot regardless if it's the Castillo of 2007, 2005, or 2001.

That being said, it was not only Hatton that made Castillo look like a shot fighter. The evidence was in... the legs. Watch the first round of Corrales-Castillo 1 or 2, and then watch Round 1 of Castillo-Hatton. Notice how unsteady on his legs Castillo looks in the Hatton fight even when not getting touched in comparison to the sturdy Castillo of the Corrlaes fights. Hatton was able to take advantage of that, as he should have, but this was evident even without Hatton imposing his will.

Exactly. Now, I was one of those saying that Castillo was on the downside BEFORE the fight - the Hatton haters were challenging that, and saying he'd kick Ricky's ass, etc. I'll tell ya, I thought this fight was gonna be one-sided, but not THAT one-sided. Hatton was impressive - but you'll never hear the haters give him credit.

Again, let me reiterate: that in no way detracts from Hatton's victory because the way Hatton won, he could have and would have landed that shot against any version of Castillo, and with the same result.

Castillo did not take the fight serious. Hell as soon as he was Ko'd, Castillo said " give me a beer " and a kind fan threw him one.

    Boxing4real picked:
    Castillo Kill Hatton
    Judah KO Cotto
    Briggs KO Ibragimov
    Miranda KO 1 Pavlik

When TF is the last time they got a major fight right? Anyone know?

Those muppets, dont they get half of their predictions wrong.:rofl

the point is Castillo is no more shot or on the downslide than Judah or De La Hoya. :deal

Thus Hatton should get the same credit as Cotto and Floyd. (Floyd more because he has to move up in weight, but De La Hoya has been crap for three years now)

I'm not so sure about that... did you see the position that Castillo put himself in? He's not usually that undisciplined to be able to take that shot, it's like he turned his side to Ricky and said "HIT ME!!!"..

I disgree though. I think that he looked unsteady due to Hatton's style. Hatton has a brilliant use of angles, pressure, pushing, and pulling that leaves his opponents struggling to find comfort. Hatton has very fast feet, and a lot of strength. He skips to the side and pressures his opponents from angles that gets their feet crossed up and unsteady. Castillo being the slow starter that he is, and the type of fighter that he is simply feeds right into that aspect of Hatton's game.

you say he beat the best version of castillo but castillo was still a dangerous opponent coming into the fight and hatto stopped with a hard body shot. you cant take nothing away from hatton.
