I feel Haye needs to just box for the 12 rounds, he doesn't need to go trying to throw a million bombs and he won't do that(I hope.) His punches are bombs naturally and he'll find plenty of gaps to throw them into with Valuev's sluggish movement. If he consistently lands bombs for 12 rounds I don't think he can lose a decision, even with the shitty German judging.

Haye needs to win. The fact that his biggest threats in this fight are his own faults shows what a joke Valuev is.

If Haye loses I would suggest retirement but I reckon he would've already died of embarrassment by that point.

My pick: Haye SD, Anything a 46 year old with brain damage can do, Haye can do better.

 

I really hope Haye can keep his composure cos if he does this can be an easy fight for him. I think fighting abroad will help in this sense since the crowd won't be cheering him on. Against Monte he got too caught up in trying to impress the home crowd and he made a lot of mistakes.

 

I'm not worried, I expect Haye to stop him and win me 120 quid off a 10 pound accumulator. I think we will see a lot more body punching from Haye that we have before.

 

Slip, I'm under no allusion to Valuevs ahem, talents. It's more Haye probably getting hurt by anything Valuev lands on him. Hayes no Sweet Pea, he will get hit at some point. I honestly think he would bomb Wlad out early without getting whacked, but this will probably go the distance. Haye will get hit, and as big a fan I am I don't trust his punch resistance at all, even against a non-puncher like Valuev :good

If Barrett cna land at will, and Ruiz can stun the guy, what do you think Haye is gonna do to him?

Also factor in how Haye seems to be in absolutely supreme state, mentally and physically, he's not just a c grade fighter turning up for his paycheck.

 

Great post with lots of good bullet points..........I think this will be Hayes easiest fight yet and after he wins the whole country will sit up and take notice.

 

I know I'm like an old woman sometimes but I do worry about Haye in this one...I honestly think that to stop Valuev Haye is going to have to catch him cold, but if that doesn't work after a round or two, what then? Has Haye got the ability and composure to revert to plan B and outbox the giant for the remainder of the fight without gassing? I hope so, but I have my doubts

 

He doesn't have to catch him cold. He has to keep catching him and he will. I think you will see Haye dummy and then go under the jab to attack the body. I think we will see quick in and out 2 punch combos, one to the body one to the head, and out. Wait for the jab, show the chin, as the right comes, slip it and bang bang again, into the head and then the body.

He wont need to catch him cold. He is so fast in comparison and with so much to aim at that he can wind up on shots and land flush. Valuev is not McCall. He is not eating clean shots all night from Haye.
