Leonard-Duran 1: 60/40 crowd, Hispanic and Anglo; after the decision, someone walking down the street shouting, "Sugar Ray WHO?"

Holmes-Ali: Hearing the crowd noise progressively fade as it became apparent Ali was getting beaten badly (part of me hoped he was playing possum to come back later; the ninth round ended that thought) ... the broadcast cut off immediately after Dundee called it, and the last thing we saw was virtually the same shot as on the cover of SI the following week; Ali sitting beaten on his stool. Absolute silence in the Civic Center ...

Leonard-Duran 2: Stunned, angry outrage when Duran stopped fighting; I got out as quickly as possible, it looked ugly.

Holmes-C0oney: Live prelims beforehand ... on the big screen, there was a closeup of Gerry in the dressing room and the guy next to me said, "Holy ****, look at the beak on that guy!"

Tyson-Spinks: I spent the first 30 seconds yelling at Spinks to stop running and fight; I paid for this, dammit! After the first knockdown, I was yelling for him to run, RUN - I saw my $35 going down the drain for a one-round fight. He apparently didn't hear me ...

Saw that one at the Dallas State Fair Coliseum... a rodeo arena / minor league hockey barn. "Dubbya Tee Eph ! Duran don't quit" as the beer cups began to fly at the screen.
