Heard this story once, don't know if its true. Apparently Holman Williams joined Brewster Center (the same guys who gave Louis and Robinson the fundamentals) because he was getting bullied, so he went to learn boxing and when those bullies came by he knocked them out (doing what he set out to do). But because he was so good already, he was asked to continue and not give it up. and he eventually turned pro and the rest is history... Is this story true or a myth?
Just mention 'Jack Johnson' and 'black contenders' in any context and it will fall apart soon enough.
According to this dust filled dictionary I have in front of my good eye a bully is: a fine person or a sweetheart.
