I'll usually throw the right hand to the body after double or triple jabbing to my left so that I can get a good angle and also take away his left hook.

  2. If anything i use the straight right to the body too much so im told anyway. It doesn't need to be hard it's still a great shot because its normally easy to land and increases control of the fight and closing the distance. If nothing else is open the straight right to the body is a good chance. After a jab, throw the right to the body then attack to the head again. usually with a left hook.

Or feint and use it to create angles for yourself or to counter his reactions. Great when he's on the ropes as well definitely no good while you're on the ropes. You are open for left hooks or counter rights, even uppercut

    also no good on southpaws

    edit-

straight right to the body, then left hook counter

I know it's MMA, but nice example. JDS has poor boxing by pure boxing standards but it works incredibly well in MMA. On a sidenote, when I see that fight I always notice the power of left hook he lands whilst on his knees just as Gilbert rolls over. Nasty.

great example of and i think JDS has great boxing for mma
and is helping the popualirity of boxing,
a boxer is ufc heavyweight champion

    but back to the point
the hook is great the right to the body
    but

if the guy's right hand is up, then a nice to the face works well
like you jab to the face-right to the body-then jab up with the jab to the face again
which is now very hard and you even use it to step back out of range
