SO i bought a nike speed rope and ive been trying to straighten it for a while but it just has all these tangles in it. How do i sort it out. Ive left it hanin on my door too but that hasnt worked. And when i skip with it it gets caught on my feet and keeps hitting my head. Is it because of the rangles as its measured out correctly for my height. Its a plastic one so is harder to straighten than the leather ones.

i advise you not to pit it round 1 of the ring posts and pull back as hard as you can
i ended up very embarassed with a bruised tail bone and a snapped rope with everyone in the gym laughing

you will never be able to straighten it, i once bought a nike rope and i know a few others who have, we were never able to straighten it.

My rope (leather) was kinda strong and a bit tangled but after a few jump rope sessions it got loose and i had no problem with it.

Are leather ropes any good? I've only used rubber and plastic, leather seems like it would get hard and lose flexibility after a while.

i prefer plastic but leather are a bit heavier so you build more strength in shoulders

I bought a Nike rope a while ago and it was crap. I chucked it out and bought a plastic Everlast one, which is ok (but not great).

Other way round my leather rope started off unflexible and hard and now after 6 months of use its soft and very flexible , i hung mine on a nail on the wall with the handles wieghing it down it soon straightened up , also just using it will do that you just have to be twirling the rope at a decent speed.

Suspend the rope and add a slight weight to one end, then hit it with a blow dryer for a few minutes and let it hang there for a while

Plastic and straightened out straight away. A proper speed rope

your better off with a beaded jump rope, cheap and if the rope rips you can replace it with another rope.
