I really hope Floyd use his legs more against Cotto. He has a tendency of leading with his left hook, and Cotto could timed him with a good set up jab to knock him down.

Floyd hasn't lead with a left hook in almost 3 years.

I guess we'll find out if he still has the gazelle or not on May 5th.:yep Mosley was smart enough to block the hook with right hand. Ortiz is a southpaw, and Mayweather doesn't bother with that shot much against lefties.

I think when Floyd was younger he struggled somewhat with the bigger guys.

So he had to use his feet ALOT more.

I think recently Floyd has found confidence in his strength and power that he didn't have in the earlier part of his career, so now he can compete with anyone.

Plus I do think he has slowed down but he hasn't lost his legs, for those saying otherwise see the JMM fight.

So a combination of him slowing down and being much stronger enabled him to alter his style somewhat whilst he still has superior defense to anyone in the game means he still doesn't take any punishment.

So it's a pretty low risk type stratergy but you best believe if he fought Manny his legs would be in full effect and he would only walk down Manny when the opportunity presented itself.

yeah Mosley is trained very well to put that hand up. You'll see that's the first thing he does on defense is bring that hand up. When they do the foam sticks and the towel routine with Nazim, he ingrains it in him

:rofl:rofl:rofl:lol: very nice response! that said, Mayweather trying to walk down Ortiz was very impressive. Ortiz, unlike any of pacquiao's recent opponents, was in his prime, at his natural weight, and coming off of a career victory. it's better for him because of his speed and intelligence. Being a split second slower can make fighting defensively very risky when much of your defense is reflexes.
