I just started lifting weights again because provincials are coming up and I was wondering what kind of #s other people where putting up, especially around my weight. Im deadlifting 325 for 4-5 reps, benching 185 for 5-6 reps, and weighted pullups (+40lbs) for 5 reps. I dont know what Im squatting yet though (my legs were sore before I got to the gym). Im 158lbs & 5'10.5" currently, Im dropping weight though.

according to the 1 rep max calculator my lifts would be:
205 benchpress (This is true, Ive maxed out before and its all I can do  )
    366 deadlift
    +65 weighted pullup

You weigh 158 and your maxing out at 205? You looking for a pat on the back or encouragment? If your benching 1 1/2 times your bodyweight your a strong dude. 200lbs is nothing to be ashamed off. Many cant even bench there own weight let alone one and a half times. And remember this is the internet. Everyone on this forum can bench 300lbs.

Im not looking for a pat on the back, why the hostility?

I know people usually make up #s on forums but Im just hoping some will give a truthful response. whether its higher or lower

Hi. I don't put much emphasis on strength only, but I'm 5"10, 154LBS and these are the 5X3 stats from my crossfit workout log. I think someone mentioned that if you're along the lines of a 1X bodyweight bench press, 1.25X bodyweight squat, and 1.5X bodyweight deadlift, than you are considered basically strong for your weight; as far as lifting weights goes.

    175LB Bench Press
    225LB Squat
    315LB Deadlift

I dont know my weighted pullup amount, but i can do 100 pullups broken up. I usually just perform towel pullups when it comes to a weighted pullup day.

It was just the emoticon you used. I was tempted to make a similar response.

    Your numbers are good.

I once bench pressed 3,231lbs and can usually dead lift around 1,400 with my 46 inch *****.

I really enjoy strength training, second only to sparring.

    My current numbers are... drumroll...
    270lbz squat
    330lbs deadlift
    185lbs bench

    1 rep maxes

The actual maxes at the moment are probably higher, but we are getting stronger, that's what is important.

Also, some nice other things I like to throw in:

DB Rows 100lb db x 20 reps is my record on that, excellent exercise.

Box squat 310lb off a parallel box.

    About 15 wide-ish grip pullups.

    Push Press 75kg. (single)

Good numbers you have for a dude your weight mate, I'm 10 lbs heavier.

205 bench is a solid bench, people generally, ESPECIALLY ON THE BENCH PRESS, I can't emphasise this enough, don't do proper full reps or are assisted reps, so take people's bench (and leg press, oh my god) numbers with a pinch of salt

i weigh between 190 and ~195. i bench about 225-230 but prefer doing weighted and elevated pushups for reps to actual bench pressing because i prefer endurance. i do 3x50 with my feet about 4' off the ground. anywho, the most ive squated was ~380x2, cant remember. and the most i can dead lift is about 425 and my grip breaks, gotta work on my forearm strength more. Pullups my 1 set max was just 22 without added weight, never tried a weighted pullup actually.

the only reason im was ashamed of 205 is cus another boxer in my club says he can bench 225. Hes a few inches shorter so I figure with the leverage advantage he probably could. Hes the same weight. Im just VERY competitive is all. But then again he hits like a girl (so he may be lying), hes just very skilled so #s dont mean much when it comes to boxing apparently.

at 190 with 22 pull ups Im guessing you could probably do 5-10 more lbs than me. And Im bettin u can bench 200lbs for 4 reps at least. Just a guess. I think everyone should know their weight room #s just because it can give confidence. Squat weight is awesome, I know Im not even close, maybe 300 for a 1 rep max, maybe, Ill find out on tuesday

Lifting weights is all good but i feel this is not an accuarete indicator of strength as when we are competing against another person we are not using just one muscles we are using are whole body at once also the way in which manage to effectively propel are strength against another person comes in to play.for instance i'm sure all my strenght against the strongest man in the worlds arm i would come out on top.my way of lookin at it is you cannot tell how strong someones is untill you feel it much lik you cannot tel how hard someone punches until they punch you.i think the word i am lookin at is functional strength.

Benching your own bodyweight is strong
Squating 1 1/2 times your bodyweight is also strong

    anything higher is well...

    I don't bench a lot.
    I prefer military press.
    I'm 168lbs.

I actually neglect the chest, strangely.
