:roflatsch Have you even seen the fight? Calzaghe got straight back up, floored Mitchell with a vicious left, then used his head as a speed-bag. One of Mitchell's eyes was going to the shop, the other was coming home with the change. He was all over the place and was on jelly legs before the ref spared him any more brutal punishment. It's irrefutable.
Zab is one of my favorite fighters to watch as long as he is dedicated. He has shown flashes of greatness at times. Really overachieved at welter if looking at his size. He is also the last undisputed welterweight champ(as far as all three major titles). Strengths: hand speed, power, reflexes, foot speed, athleticism. Weaknesses: Stamina, dedication, advice in corner, workrate at times.
I don't understand how Zab can be "too small" to be a WW as the lowest he ever fought at was 140?:think
strength - fast, southpaw, good counter puncher , good overall boxing skills. weakness - one-dimensional, lack of heart &/or stamina.
Seeing him in person led me to that. I've seen some other welterweights in person and he is not big at all. We have welterweights at 5'9 up to 6'1. The guy is 5'6. When those guys baloon up to 160 or so on(like Spinks, Baldomir, Clottey, Cotto) he is then outsized. Him still being able to make 140 after 5 years at welter should kinda hint to my opinion.:good
cotto had bigger fish to fry and a hell of alot more money to make at the time, dont worry paul's day is coming haha, and the **** is i actually like paul as a fighter Im just not convenced he's all he's cracked up to be
Strength: Hand speed (major strength - one of the fastest hands) Weakneses: Chin (not terrible but at top level not good enough), stamina (after 4 rounds he becomes a punching bag for top fighters)
