Yep of course. I used to always injury my rotator cuff and lower back when training, but I haven't had any trouble with them since after I started stretching before I trained. Here's an article about it http://www.expertboxing.com/boxing-...d-flexibility-underrated-boxing-skills-part-1
Most research on the subject shows that dynamic stretching and warming up is better before exercise and static stretching is better after. As a warmup I usually just do some jumping jacks and running in place, followed by some jump rope. Before I wrap up I'll do some trunk twists and shoulder rotations, and then get started. After my workout I do 7-10 minutes of static stretching, holding each stretch for about 15 seconds - back, hamstrings, hips, calfs, neck, shoulders, triceps.
Its better doing stretch indipedant, from all other activaty. Three days hitting it hard and two on maintainance, the other two off. Maintainance isnt easy, but gives incredible results long term. Too much contraction, and no expansion or balancing of the body spells trouble long term.Stretching helps with repairing small tares, help nuerons adapt better to repairing themselves. Stretching is a must for the body to evolve.
I can't do anything without stretching before hand. Part of it is mental, i can feel myself loosening up. I stretch everything from head to toe. Some people skip or jog to loosening up. I just feel like i have to stretch first. Then i do some skipping after.
