I would think it takes a very powerful punch to actually collapse a throat and restrict breathing or cause suffocation. In the video, my opinion is he is collapsed from the pain and probably a **** load of fear - but I imagine he can still breathe. I mean even if your bones/cartilage are completely shattered, the lungs should be strong enough to force air through - albeit very painfully and laboriously. Anyways, i won't pretend to be a medical expert, just my opinion. I did get punched in the throat in one of my (boxing) fights last year - with a 10 oz glove. It was fortunately not hard enough to injure me. In fact, it didn't even bother me during the fight. What did bother me was the hometown crowd reacting like it was a clean hit. lol. But I can say, my throat was sore for the next 2 weeks. Strangely enough, it felt EXACTLY like a sore throat from infection due to cold/flu.
That would definitely be worse than a strike to the throat if there were no one there to stop the fight.
Thats from the IFL yeah? Did he have any lasting damage from that, because I was amazed he wasn't dead
Ive been hit in the throat in sparring before with 16s, but never in a fight. (boxing) **** hurts like a mfer but I kept going through it, obviously I didnt get it quite as bad as that guy
Yeah. Dan Miller choking Dave Phillips. Phillips only fought once (or twice depending on the source) more after that, a full year later, but apparently there was no permanent damage.
Someone died from a soccer kick ? Or a stomp ? or a 12-6 elbow ? And when I mean die is in a sanctioned fight...before all those were banned... !
Oh i remember seeing that some years back and i thought he broke his neck and died and if memory serves me right he should be ok
