Gina hadn't fought for nearly a year apparently and that's not the best way to prepare for your biggest rival at all, before this fight i was thinking she had to adopt a similar strategy to what Anderson employed against Franklin and Forrest i.e stay on the outside and counter, Cyborg is not technical at all, all she does is goes in fists first and swings away, after the first minuet Gina got mount and that's when she should have gone for broke but she foolishly stood up and let Cyborg get up and back into the fight, she was unlucky that it got stopped one second from the bell though, but even if she made it through the round i'm guessing Cyborg would have stopped her eventually because Gina was getting caught with some heavy punches, Gina can come back from this as she wasn't knocked spark out and embarrassed or anything but she needs to dedicate herself more to the game and work on her counter attacks and ground defence, Another thing, people are raving about that Mousisa guy on sherdog, claiming he could tear up the ufc 205 division, but lets be real he'd get his ass handed to him by Machida and especially Silva and i believe Jon Jones would give him fits too.
I liked the Cyborg Carano fight and was hoping Gina would win, and it looked like she could have at times, but she lost in a very good fight, if this had gone a couple more rounds competitively there probably would be a rematch.
gina did alot better than i expected her to,but cyborg is just to much for her...maybe gina could put a few wins together and get a rematch
Mousasi would mix well into the UFC 205 talent pool. He would be a great fight for Rampage and Machida. I'd still tap Machida to win - but Rampage. . .
**** i missed the fight! Kind of expected to Gina to get stopped. She was fighting a chick with a dick.
Wasn't Melendez originally supposed to get a shot at avenging his other loss tonight? I guess all the better, if the Thompson fight is rescheduled he'll be able to wipe the slate clean.
Gina got mugged. Decent card but overall just too many one-sided fights. Mousasi beat Babalu alot easier then I thought he would though. Babalu is a good fighter not a great fighter but for Mousasi at this stage in his career is a big win.
I felt bad for her, because she was actually doing well. If Cyborg was a woman, Gina would have beat her. The problem is that Cyborg is a genetically/synthetically mutated dude. Gina was simply wore out by the man-strength of Cyborg.
Strikeforce ****in' rocked tonight. I've certainly become somewhat of a fan over it. It lived up to the hype, that's for damn sure.
****, Carano looked hot as hell crouched on the ground covering her face taking those punches, Cyborg was about to pull out her **** and get it over with, thank god the ref jumped in.
I was thinking something similar during that fight. While Gina was on her back with her legs spread I was almost thinking about whipping it out and whacking it. :yep No way a woman that fine should be doing this for a living.
