Another fighter is moving from Strikeforce to the UFC.

Earlier today Tim Kennedy added Ultimate Fighting Championship to his list of employers on his facebook profile. Alone that could potentially just be a reference to Zuffa owning Strikeforce. However, UFC.com just added a profile for the Green beret war hero and combatives black belt, so it appears that the move of top talent from Strikeforce to the UFC continues.

While no firm plans have been announced for Strikeforce, it appears that the option of maintaining it as a legitimate competitor to the UFC has long passed. The possibility of maintaining it as a regional show has been raised in the past, but the transfer over of Cung Le, a huge local draw, would seem to indicate that that option is dimming. With Showtime unwilling to make a prompt commitment, it appears increasingly possible that in the not too distant future, the organization will go the way of Pride and the WFA, and simply cease operation.

Personally, I thought it would have been wise to keep SF as a second tier organisation. That way they act as a buffer between UFC and their closes competitors. Instead of losing non elite fighters to Bellator, Dream, BAMMA etc they can go to SF. SF could be home to fighters like Daley, Marquardt and fighters soon to be cut like Vera etc

Maybe with the FOX deal, the UFC believe they need a much deeper roster allowing them to pretty much put on a fight every week, some Fox, some PPV, etc

There's going to be plenty of non-PPV MMA available next year.

As I understand the Fox deal, every year there are going to be four major cards on Fox, ten or so "Fight Night" type cards on FX and Fuel and live fights every Friday on FX during the TUF seasons. Additionally, Viacom just bought out Bellator and is supposedly going to pump a shitload of cash into promoting MMA on the networks that the corporation owns. HDNet also broadcasts cards from minor promotions on a regular basis.

Let's hope Rockhold and Jacare come over soon as well. As well Feijao and King Mo.

And Cormier :yep And, if he continues to come up clean, Barnett.

Great idea but think Stann has already said he'll never fight him.

I'm sure both could be convinced if there was some sort of charity arrangement with a veterans association.

Why would they make that fight though?

It will be weird if they do make that fight. Two servicemen against each other...
