    http://www.heavy.com/mma/mma-news/2...eful-for-lashley-vs-bautista-on-pay-per-view/

Heavy.com is reporting that Strikeforce execs Rich Chou and Scott Coker would like Lashley/Batista to headline a Strikeforce PPV card:

"That’s not a free television bout. That’s a pay per view fight," said Strikeforce matchmaker Rich Chou. "You can’t give away everything for free."

Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker echoed the sentiments. "Absolutely. That’s a pay per view fight. I believe we put on some great matchups for the hardcore fans and the casual fans in general. When you tune in to a Strikeforce fight, you know you’re going to see some great fights," Coker told Heavy.com. "But every once in awhile, when you get a chance to throw in a fight like this one that’s just fun to watch? Why not?"

 at Coker reppin the hardcore fans and then trying to push Lashley/Batista as a legit MMA PPV fight. This would be a disaster if it happened.

Woah. Huge miscalculation for the real fans. A couple hundred thousand WWE fans will buy it.

Batista hasn't had a fight yet. At least let him get to 4-0. Lashley needs to step up a bit in comp. In MMA this fight is nothing but 2 prospects.

To do this would be like the UFC making a PPV out of Kimbo vs a 0-0 Brock.

Defnite freakshow. If people actually paid for that as a main event they would be sorely disappointed when Lashley ground and pounds Batista's face inside 90 seconds.

Ah, yup, that's what would happen. Batista, as big as dude is, I just feel like he's soft somehow. Lashley's wrestling would immensely weaken Dave until he gets pounded out, maybe even subbed.

First of all, that is a much more legit fight. We are talking about Toney, who is a world class ATG boxer. Isn't like the guy hasn't been fighting all of his life. Toney's boxing vs Couture's wrestling.... that's a fun matchup.

Also, that isn't even the main event. That is on a STACKED card that also has Penn vs Edgar II... Maynard vs Florian, Marquardt/Palhares, Nate Diaz vs Marcus Davis, ect..... That is a GREAT card and I can't wait to watch it.

For what it's worth... I would watch Batista vs Lashley too... that would be an interesting fight anyways. I wouldn't pay for it though. Definitely wouldn't consider the winner any type of amazing prospect.... but it would be fun to watch.

Oh, no wonder my confusion upon first opening this thread (having never heard of mixed martial artist Dave Batista) - it's that dude, from pro wrestling.

    He's 41?

So a 33 year old former pro wrestler who's 5-0 versus a 41 year old former pro wrestler making his MMA debut - that's PPV worthy? :rofl

    Nice try, Scott.

This dude who's real into boxing and MMA on my ship (also seen as a habitual liar but beside the point) claims that Batista has a huge Muay Thai background, which was news to me. Claims there are Youtube videos if anyone cares to validate this as youtube access is non-existent on US DOD computers.
He says that Bautista was pretty beastly with it but i take his facts with a grain of salt. I just can't validate anything myself.

Why not? UFC pushed Brock vs Couture. Seriously theres hardly much diffrence. Albeit in my opinion neither is PPV worthy. May be we need Vince to do a Survivor series ECW style :D
