I thought about it and no need for a source. You have just proven my point! GGG is not Kazakh! Thanks

    Yes

Golovkin, despite being from Kazakhstan, is not an ethnic Kazakh and does not speak Kazakh. He is mostly an ethnic Russian. Russian is the most spoken language in Kazakhstan.

Next up: debating whether people living in the Republic of Ireland with some Ulster Protestant ancestors are Irish. Followed by a series of other nation/ethnic group parsing exercises that culminate in the thread getting swallowed into the Lounge's all-devouring maw.

Your right in the sense this is a ridiculous debate to have in the 'Classic' but for the record only NoNeck aka Troll brought up ethnicity. Lol.

I think you’re trolling for pretending GGG isn’t a Kazakhstani national.

A bunch of guys talking about “heritage” in a topic that’s about nationalities. It’s weird.

Kazakhstan wasn’t a region invented by the dissolution of USSR. That’s his region. Your claim is categorically wrong that he’s Russian.

@JunlongXiFan is (probably) right on technicallity, but You guys are right in a way that Golovkin doesn't belong in discussion here. He wasn't born in Russia, doesn't represent Russia or consider himself Russian, thus saying that He adds to Russian boxing legacy doesn't make much sense.

Junlong - does Bivol have any Russian heritage? I read he's half Moldovan and half Korean, but maybe it's just simplification - but either way probably wouldn't make much sense to mention him as greatest Moldovan boxer of all time.

To clarify, if you look through my posts on this thread, I never actually said that Golovkin should be considered as part of the legacy of Russian boxing, and in fact I said Bivol should. My only point was that Golovkin had no Kazakh heritage to be proud of.

Yes brother, I read through it and understand Your point. There was other poster who mentioned Golovkin here - and I think other posters were replying to You while having his answer in mind, sort of missing the point.

I asked about Bivol out of curiosity, I'd genuinly like to know. I know his father is Moldovan and mother is Korean - but are there like "pure" Moldovan in Korean, or does He still have some Russian in him?
I listened to him on Grigory Drozd podcast not long ago - and He's obviously proud to represent Russia, but also speaks very fondly about Kyrgyzstan and says He has a lot of Korean friends also. Very cosmopolitan guy.

I do not believe Bivol is partially ethnically Russian unfortunately. Well, he probably is a little, but like 5-10%.

He has lived in Russia since he was a child and benefited massively from doing so, which is probably why he is a patriot.

Probably time to move on and back to the topic at hand now everyone is in agreement that GGG doesn’t belong in this discussion.

By posting these videos shows your twisting everything said because you know Iam correct or your being a troll or both, I would say both.
Here is an example so maybe it sinks in this time, try to pay attention. If your parents are from Pakistan that makes you Pakistani. Now if your in India and have India citizenship then you can wave their flags as much as you like and sing their national anthem as loud as you like because you are a citizen of their country but your lineage and heritage is still Pakistani because you are Pakistani. Get it?
    The same goes for GGG.

If you made it this far and still dont get it then go back to the top and read again. Thanks

It means your American but your not Native American because your heritage is from Russia and Korea.
