McCall, Chuvalo, and 70's Ali rank for me. Fought some of the best punchers ever, fielded brutal bombs from them, and kept on ticking.
H2H : McCall , Chuvalo , Tua , P4P : Toney , Jorge Castro , Charley Burley , Lamotta , Merqui Sosa , Tony Thornton , Hector Camacho , Juan Laporte Can anyone discredit these ? : Marlon Starling , Reggie Johnson , Jose Luis Lopez in his prime , Ike Quartery , Steve Collins , Chris Eubank , Eder Jofre , Hagler , Monzon , Aaron Davis , Had good chins at least for big men : Nikolay Valuev , Vitali Klitschko , Tony Tucker
Are we talking chins as in hard to knock down? Or hard to knock out? Larry Holmes to me showed he had a good chin when he took that shot from Earnie Shavers and managed to get up. I'll never know how he survived that. Wayne McCullough had a great chin as well.
Yeah, I firmly believed in McCullough's chin until I say THIS: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P06nqkEkCg8[/ame]
Terry Norris... After him Marvin Hagler. Never down or even hurt in the amateurs or as a pro. Roldan cuffed him behind the head pulling him down. Look at who he fought ,Briscoe, Hearns,Mugabi,Cyclone Hart all the big hitters of his generation and he was never even wobbled !
Ali has to be in here as well. He fought the biggest hitters of all time and was never stopped... Liston, Foreman Shavers, Frazier and even Lyle. And as he got old and had to come down of his toes, making him even more hittable. Then we really got to see what a set of whiskers he had...Check out rd 6 of his 3rd go with Frazier. He got nailed by two devastating left hooks, the first one you could actually hear... Great chin unbelievable fighting heart too...
^^^ Was thinking the same thing beat me too it.. No one has mentioned Johnny Tapia he had a great chin.
