Willie Pastrano...never down from a head shot...only career kd was that ungodly left hook to the body from Torres in his last fight in '65.
Marciano got knocked down by a washed up 160 pound Archie Moore and a washed up Jersey Joe Walcott both by 1 punch so yep that must of ment he had a great chin. Foreman, McCall, Chuvalo, Peralta, Holyfield had great chins.
Lately, I've grown rather fond of mentioning how Henry Clark was able to take on punchers like Liston (protesting the late seventh round stoppage), Shavers 2X, Mac Foster (winning), Jeff Merritt 2X (starching Candy Slim the second time), Leotis (winning), Big Train, Machen (winning), Folley, Tiger Williams (winning), Norton, Mercado (Clark's swan song), a young Ramos (in a dominating upset win) and some other huge and respectably powered heavyweights without ever going down. He did not have the volume of bouts Chuvalo did, but a case might be made that Henry's chin withstood a greater aggregate of total heavyweight firepower. Chuvalo did take on Bob Baker, Durelle, DeJohn, JQ, Patterson, Mathis, Frazier, Big Cat and Foreman among his 93 career bouts in 22 years, but does this truly surpass how tested the defensively limited Clark's chin was in his 50 fights over 15 years? Henry missed out on Foreman and Lyle, but did get matched against a remarkable number of bombers. Going back to back with Shavers is insane, as is taking on Mercado at age 34 after a layoff of over two and a half years.
