As already stated, it's gotta be light welterweight - the ring magazine gives us 3 of the top 4 fighters in the whole world, not bad for such a small country! A bit off topic: Titles per person the UK must be ranking pretty highly in the world now, we have 12 out of the WBC,WBA,IBF,WBO or the ring, the eastern european countries combined only mange 9! In fact the whole of rest of Europe combined could only manage just 12! Despite having six times the population as us the USA only has 17 (they would need to have 72 titles to have the same number per person as us!). The Philipines could only manage 4 depsite having 30 million more population! Mexico only has 7 even though they have 40 million more population! Japan can only mange 4 even through they have 60 million more population! I imagine maybe only Puerto Rico has more titles (4) per person than the UK right now (apart from a couple a couple small countries with one title that could just be statistical anomalies) and that's no shame coming from a country with such a strong boxing tradition. I think the UK boxing scene is better than ever and deserves more respect!:smoke
Good post Matt, It's great to see British boxing doing well. A few more fights like Haye vs Maccarinelli and hopefully more of the world will notice!
