Who had the strongest jab in boxing. Your pick from any division, and let’s not include good jabs like Holmes but the most powerful. I’d say foreman and I don’t think too many can come close. From the lower division fighters I’d say McClellan
I think Lennox Lewis, Wladimir Klitschko and Sonny Liston all had better power jabs than Foreman, but it's difficult not get caught up in how good the jab is functionally. Maybe Foreman had a harder jab than those guys, who knows? I think it was Wladmir of whom Haye said being hit with his jab was like being hit with a cruiserweight right hand, which is crazy.
Foreman is a good call. He wasn't really fast but he managed to put his weight - his considerable weight - into it and you could see it moved his targets. Wlad Klitscko also had a really powerful jab early on, and I think he diluted it a bit by adopting his outstretched stance in his later career.
There’s a guy on another forum who sparred Wlad, Foreman, and Lewis. He claimed Foreman’s jab was the strongest
Tyson had an underrated jab. When he used it, it was hard & very effective. Other shoutouts are GGG & Kovalev.
Liston and Foreman really put everything into it. Would put them as most powerful but Wlad Lewis and Louis and Ali and Holmes had amazing jabs as well all very different but great in their own ways.
Foreman frog marched guys around the ring with his jab. Heads and bodies moved when he landed , even when the bodies were moving away from his jab. This content is protected
Bob Foster springs to mind in the jab department, not your conventional jab granted, but thrown from the thigh area in a upward arch, its main purpose was to range find usually , our own Chris Finnegan had this to say " it was like a glove on the end of a scaffold pole, and it hurt " so yes not like the aforementioned but used to perfection. keep well.
