Liston
That's beside the point. You at the very least suggested Quartey as a candidate for strongest jab in history. Click here to register a FREE forum account and REMOVE ADS
Always thought that Sot Chitalada had one of the best jabs in the lower weight class. Very powerful, ram-rod like jab for a Flyweight.
At the lower weights I haven't seen many stronger jabs than Quartey, seen better, faster jabs but not stronger ones. Quartey may have been an overrated fighter but his jab was not, he had truly an ATG jab.
Most POWERFUL per weight class. Heavyweights Foreman or Liston Lt.heavyweights Foster and Spinks Middleweight Hagler and Monzon Lt.Middle Hearns and Quartey Welterweight Hearns and Quartey Jr.welter Judah and Pryor though Cervantes is in the mix. Lightweight I'll lean to Ike Williams ,but theirs no definitive best. Suoer feather/jr lightweight and feather I'll go with Arguello and D.Lopez
I went back and watched Liston again. I'm not sure even Holmes and Ali's jabs quite match that. Even Foreman didn't step into it the way Liston did. That stepping-in aspect made Liston's reach even more indomitable. So, for bludgeoning effect I give the award to Foreman. But for both power and execution I give it to Liston. Overall effectiveness I have to give it to Holmes
Since everyone is fixated on the heavies, Pinky and Seldon both had jabs that are worth a mention. For light-heavies, Darius M had a wicked power jab.
