A newly refreshed list of the 12 strongest punchers of the nineties using compiled statements mainly from The Ring's "Best I Faced" interviews. All fighters here are ones that were properly named and had a decently defined career in the nineties. Certain comparisons I had to make myself from the statements compiled, as some of them clash with one another. Lewis is the most inconsistent with his power, as he was rated under guys like James Smith and Evander Holyfield punch and strength wise, but also gets compared to much stronger punchers later in his career, so I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt here. (If Smith were on this list using the same sources, he'd be just above Ray Mercer.) [Wladimir Klitschko?] -In contention with Foreman, Vitali, and Hide [George Foreman?] -In contention with all upper ?s [Vitali Klitschko?] -In contention will all upper ?s [Shannon Briggs?] -In contention with Foreman, Lewis, Vitali, and Hide [Herbie Hide?] -In contention with Foreman, Klitschko, and Briggs [Lennox Lewis?] -In contention with Foreman, Vitali, Briggs, and Morrison [Tommy Morrison?] -In contention with Foreman [Riddick Bowe] [David Tua?] -In contention with Golota and Mercer [Andrew Golota?] -In contention with Tua [Ray Mercer?] -In contention with Tua [Evander Holyfield] If you have any statements regarding fighters on this list, or other fighters not mentioned here that put them above fighters here, such as Ike Ibeabuchi, Michael Moorer, Bert Cooper, or other notable punchers from the era, do tell.
