Who do you think had the strongest right hand in boxing history? This is not a thread on power punching but the most powerful Striaght Right Hand.

Did you come up with this because of all of these Thomas Hearns threads going around at the moment?

I know you can think of a lot of people like this, but in ref to the right hand, everytime Wladimir Klitschko throws that straight right, there is a good chance of a knockdown, or hurting them badly.

I think that it was Max Baer. His right hand was so strong he killed two people with it. It got to the point where he became afraid to throw it at full power because he didn't want to hurt his opponent.

I think If I was kept to just one name, I'd probably go for Baer, yeah. If he landed flush you were pretty much done.

  8. George Foreman:smoke

Lennox Lewis had a right hand from hell also, just not as strong as Foremans..

Jeeze is everybodys idea of boxing history limited to Klitchko?
Sugar Ray Robinson had a right hand thrown straight as a pipe that left dozens flopping around on the canvas. Probably the best p4p.
For a hot minute, Ingemar Johhanson had a beautiful straight right that seperated Floyd Patterson from his senses and his heavyweight championship.
Marciano's right hand wasn't exactly straight, it was thrown more like one would hurl a fastball, but it sure was devestating. Yeah, and Tommy Hearns too.

do remember though that gloves were padded differently back then.

nothing like the big gloves they have today. i think baer and wladimir would be pretty close on that score if they wore the same gloves

EDIT: i know there were other great right hands from other divisions, but for the sake of argument if this thread is talking about the most strongest right hand, then obviously any weight below heavyweights are naturally ruled out.

    P4P Hearns

Shavers and Foreman otherwise most likely.
