It's cerainly true that Baer came to hold back his right hand a little bit.

As to having "killed two men", that's controversial. He certainly killed Frank Campbell in horrific circumstances,Baer continuing to punch long after his opponent was apparently helpless and the ref. apparently paralysed! But the other man who died was a guy called Schaaf - he died after collapsing following his bout with Primo Carnera, NOT Max Baer. Schaaf also had fights in between facing Baer and Carnera.

Baer did give Schaaf a teribble beating, but laying that death at his door is a bit extreme. If anyone killed him it was the way boxing was then "organised". Schaaf was diagnosed with everything from "an old injury" to "a blood clot" to being killed by Carnera and, indeed, Baer.

Probably we'll never know what did for the poor guy.

P4P, I'd have to say Julian Jackson with Hearns a close second.

:patsch You can't be serious. Strongest P4P right hand in boxing was Tommy Hearns IMO. I might be a little subjective because I've seen most of Tommy's fights and haven't seen too many fights from certain boxers such as Max Bear yet.
