he's destroying his own career. I mean really leaving Joe Gallagher to move to Bobby Rimmer because he found the traveling to much. That really says all we need to know about his mind set. No disrespect to Rimmer but he's not on Gallagher's level. Frankie Gavin moved to Manchester to get away from the sillyness in Birmingham. He made effort. Sadly as nice a guy as Jefferies i heard and seen is..he going nowhere fast.
It was strange, he clearly thought that it was 6, even though he said it was 8 earlier in the week and Maloney apparently had a press release on Wednesday saying it was an 8-rounder. Something must have happened between then and tonight to make him think it was 6. Baffling. atsch If that is true then that is a shocking attitude to have. If he wants to succeed in the pro game the last thing he needs is to be treated like a God and everyone in the city massaging his ego and saying that he's going to do this and going to do that when he hasn't even had 10 pro fights and not looked at all impressive during his pro career so far.
That's what i heard and i think it was on these boards. Joe said he left because Tony said he wanted more one on one time in gym. Quantity vs Quality Tony...
I think Tony Jeffries career is gonna be a bit like Matthew Hattons. He just doesn't have any real 'gifts' but he can possibly win a belt if he sorts his head out and puts in the work. But he'll lose to some limited fighters along the way.
"That was an absolute joke, boxing is so corrupt. It was a 6 round fite then after I won they decide to stick an extra 2 rounds on! " **** off 'Jaffa'
Yep i was about to post that .. He cant seriously blame it on thinking he was in a 6 round fight. He is not going no where not even British level.
I love the idea of them just adding rounds on until he wasn't in a winning position. "And as we head into the 45th round of this fight Tony Jeffries of Sunder-" "THESE ARE FULL BLOODED SHOTS HERE AND HE DOESN'T WANT TO KNOW!" This content is protected
that was a shocker from Jeffries tonight. I sat ridged to my seat that fight to me was exciting even though it was journeyman going through a purple patch vs an olympic bronze medalist. seriously wtf happened in there. even Maloney admitted that mentally he fell apart. Bad, bad sign of weakness there, Jeffries needs a serious rethink, his last two performance have been awful. I never saw him land or even attempt to land a 3-4 punch combination.
NO NO NO NO!!! You can't do it now Gaz you have to wait until immediately after the show or tomorrow some time.
I've been saying for months that Jeffries is rubbish and now I feel vindicated. I've also said there have been myriad excuses for him after every fight and last night was no different. Surely people will recognise that he is just crap and this is his level. And if people think this post is purely self serving then let me say this: In a week where we've all been philosophisng about "where the sport is going", should a guy like this be getting the Sky hypejob treatment?
What Maloney said was that the fight was changed from 8 rounds to 6 rounds on Thursday, don't know why people are presenting Facebook and Twitter messages from before Thursday saying it was 8 rounds as 'evidence'.
Yeah but it could be used as evidence for bad preperation....what was he doing up at the ungodly hour of 0015??? Shocking.
