I've been boxing for a while, have had several fights and am a pretty good fighter but for the past while I find it ridiculously hard to get to the gym. I still llike boxing as much as I did when i started, and i never feel better than I do after a workout, but it's like the gym atmosphere has become so depressing because nobody ever goes there other then me. plus I have a hard time communication with my trainer cuz he's never a serious person and doesn't usually give compliments on what you're doing right ect

anyway sorry for the rant, anyone been in a similar situation and how did you overcome it? switch gyms?

Some gyms gets you pumped, the atmostphere and the drive of the others. Look around other gyms and see how you feel about it.

Move gyms if you don't feel comfortable.

Im in that same situation, What i have come to learn is that you have to be pumped and make the best of what you have. You make the gym dont let the gym make you. I posted on here about being confident and I got some good feed back(thank you ESB) and now im just going to go hard and leave it all in the ring!!! good luck Merry Xmas ESB!!!

    I feel your pain.

A few months ago, I posted a similar post here: http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?p=7978012&posted=1#post7978012

You could do what I did. Look up gyms in your area that interest you, and go check em out.

I did that. After visiting three, I realized that my trainer is the best trainer in town if you want to learn to fight.

The other gyms had nicer equipment, a friendlier atmosphere, but they had no coaches with the knowledge and background of my original coach.

I start back to my original gym after Christmas. :)

Maybe things will workout differently for you, but in my case, it was good to get out and about. See what others were doing, learn some new things. It was not a waste of time, so I'd give it a shot.
