It looks kool but i dont get what there doing with their feet. Very stupid i know but im askin anyways so when your done laughing tell me lol. Is it just moving it to one side is that all there is too it ?

I dont know either, but when you rope just do the normal jump rope, and high knees as fast as possible, to get the best out of the workout. All the other **** is for show..

Not much, just hopping. You can add a little twist if you like :)

Thought as much lol thanks it looks really good so i was thinking it must be more complicated than just swinging it side to side and keeping your feet moving lol

No that's actually all there is to it. You can make it more difficult by grabbing both handles in one hand, then switch back. It looks more difficult than it is indeed.

Yeah, and I think sometimes guys will use it as a transition from one exercise to the next (i.e., to find their rhythm in going from, say, side-to-sides to back-and-forths or something). I couldn't tell you for sure because I have cinder blocks for feet and my jump rope verbally abuses me everytime I use it.

That may very well be the case. I just do it because it looks cool and to prevent me from getting bored

I cant jump rope for ****. It's always an embarassment when my coach gets us to jump rope. I can basically do nothing but hop on two feet. So when the coach wants us to do some flashy fast **** (he uses a timer, at certain points during the round he'll expect something) I just jump high and raise my knees as high as I can with each skip. That does indeed seem to give me a good workout.

Most people **** at jumping rope swing the rope and then jump over it. Judging by the way you describe your jumping this includes you. The trick is to jump first, then swing the rope underneath your feet. I know this sounds dumb but it works. The rope follows the feet not the other way around.

If I somehow envisioned you as shittier at jumping than you actually are, my apologies :D

you can do it as a transition, a break, or for show. most people will hold the rope in two hands and swing it diagonally back in forth...then if you're good enough you can put it in one hand.....then, what I recently got the hang of, is swinging it with one hand then putting it through your legs.

Like RDJ said, it's fun and keeps me from getting bored.

it actually takes coordination, so that's kind of a reason for it.

I'll try that tomorrow, thanks for the idea.

Yeah I guess so. Learning new rope tricks has become surprisingly easy lately, so I guess it works.

Oh you meant swinging from side to side.. I thought you meant using one hand, and jumping with one foot or some crazy ****.. Yeah i can do that..

All you do is swing it side to side, its as easy as it looks, some people liek to take a couple steps backward or forward while doing it, others like to hop and twist a little....and lazy asses even stand still!

    Nothing to it at all.

I use it for a transition every time i do it as well, like, after i do a few crosses, ill do it, than start skipping or doing high knees..

Thanks for the advice boys. At the moment i jump rope in my very small dinning room. I can try this side to side move but if i do it on the left i hit the ceiling light lol. Owel ill be able to try it somewhere else. Its interesting to see how many people hate jumping rope or think there not good at it cos they can do triks. People have already said this but keep working at it and dont worry about the tricks and itll come naturally. Did for me anyways but not overnight i must have jumped rope now for nearly 5-6 months and i still trip up sometimes.:good
