actually nooooooo, his big win was that first fight with barrera...we al know who really won that fight... and what has roberts biggest win been....against mickey mouse...or might mouse....whatever his name was
He is going to lose to Marquez. He could have beaten The Ghost. Bad move by Rocky. Marquez also pulled a bad move by not fighting Guzman.
Please...Barrera won the first fight without a doubt, he held on for a very close decision. At the worst it might have been a draw, but no way did Juarez win. At any rate, I guess I could see why Juarez would take this fight, the Ghost is young, and very dangerous titlist but definitely not a star (yet), JMM is a pound4ound fighter (who is getting older and slower every fight). If Juarez can pull the upset, he will be right in the thick of things in the division (not to mention a ring champion). The problem with Juarez is that he gives away to many of the early rounds, he doesnt start fightinh until the 4th round or so.
Money, baby, money. If he show some nice moves against Marquez then he can right away go back to 126 and fight Guerrero.
My guess is that Juarez's thinking high risk high reward. Who would you rather have a win over on your resume Gueereo who is good but not great or Marquez Who drew with Pacquio and beat Berrera? A fight with Marquez is probbly a biger payday than a fight with Guerreo.
exactly. I thought about the same thing that Freddy is talkin about, and concluded that Rocky is likely taking the JMM fight because of the bigger payday. Boxing is a business, and these guys wanna make as much cash as they can before its all over. I cant blame them. Plus, you have to think he can get himslef another shot at one of the belts at 126 in the future anyway.
I agree his chances are far better vs Guerrero, NO DOUBT!!! Yet the money and respect?? Is there vs JMM. I wont fault him, I actually respect his mentality. If Guerrero hangs on?? They'll be time to whip his ass.
One thing about Rocky. Unlike JMM, he's all about taking risks to prove he's the best (Barrera x2 after MOVING UP, Soto, Raheem...all quality fighters)
Rocky has been a bit of a dissapointment but he aint no bum and if he lands that left hook a couple times we could see a pretty good upset.
Yes, because he had an opportunity to fight GUZMAN. And Guzman offers JMM three things that Juarez can't: 1) Guzman is undefeated 2) Guzman has the WBO belt to unify 3) Guzman already beat the guy JMM was supposed to fight, Barrios In fighting Juarez, JMM is showing he would rather take on someone who has already been defeated twice by Barrera (although I thought the first one was a draw, the second was a wide UD) AND Soto. So YES, JMM TOOK THE EASY WAY OUT.
While I agree with you that Raheem got screwed by the hometown ref against Juarez, I think Guerrero needs to stop hitting below the belt and rabbit punching, because he does it a lot, especially when he's in trouble. He had a good win against Abazi though.
Nah nah nah . . . GPB is stupid. They are the ones feeding Rocky to the fighters he has very little chance of beating.
