a fella cameto our gym asking us to pay him 2 coache him he then claimed he sparred with mayweather regularly then he started salsa dancing for shadow when he sparred my m8 he got hammered then said he took it easy on him when he sparred me he couldnt hit me hes finally left now aswel
MMA fighters who think boxing is going to be a breeze, cuz ya know, they gotz skillz. Dude comes in our gym, the whole MMA deal going on, tattoo'd from head to toe, staring us down. Hasn't even hit a bag yet and wants to spar. Okie Dokie. Gets in the ring, about 10 seconds go by he gets smoked a hard combo POW POW. Hits the canvas, covers his face and starts kicking at the air. lol. Everyone laughs as buddy is like 8 feet away waiting for him to get up. He gets all pissy and gives a growl getting up, 10 more seconds of dancing, same thing POW, POW POW, Drops, covers face, more kicking at air. Now everyone is laughing almost uncontrolably... He jumps out of the ring, pulls off gloves and grabs his bag, says "**** ya all!" As out the door he goes and never seen him again. haha loved it.
Yes it's annoying when my mates use to ask, did you win when they asked if I sparred at training. It's stupid, it's training not a competition fight. I tell them there is no winner and there still like yeah but did you feel you won.
Standing sideways to a mirror, with their head turned to watch theselves shadowbox, and throwing slow loaded up punches while shouting "bang-bang... bang-bang-bang!" Cracked me up big time.
I agree people do annoying things, but its not that bad at my gym. The only thing i can think of is the vest/t shirt removal that guys start doing when women at the gym walk in. Pretty funny to watch a 30something guy go red in th face, trying to fake a 1 pack
I hate when parents drop off kids for hours on end. Every summer its some parent that leaves the kid which is freakin annoying. I am going to put up a notice on Monday. This is what its going to say. ATTENTION PARENTS: Starting May 26th through August 4th: Kids 12 years and under - NOT allowed to be at the gym without parent supervision unless it’s between the hours of 4PM-5PM. Parents must drop off the kids no earlier than 4PM and pickup no later than 5PM. Kids between the ages of 13-18 - Do not disturb other boxers with unnecessary talking, insults or other inappropriate behavior. This gym is not a playground for kids enjoying the summer. If you are not training do NOT be in the gym distracting other boxers.
Definitely when a n00b comes in, talking a big talk, wanting to spar and everything. Than they proceed to try to take your head off. I love kicking the **** out of those guys. :hat
I think everyone already mentioned all the good ones, one time I seen a guy hit the bags with 10 pound weights in each hand, but that was in fitness gym, so that type of **** could be expected. Probably one of most crazy things I seen was this one girl who trained at our gym, got weighed-in wearing nothing but a thong, but she did cover her boobs. She was very serious about making weight, but the couple ounces that bra weighed wouldnt of mattered I dont think.
A: There aren't supposed to be any people of the opposite sex in the room at weigh-ins. It's clearly stated in the USA Boxing rule book. B: If you're cutting it close on weight. It matters. My sports bra weighs .6 of a pound.
It happend, I was there to see it with my own two eyes, however it was from a distance, It was for a tournament all of us were in, for fights that were taken place Columbus, Ohio. I guess, but I think it was more done for show than anything else, but you might be right.
