As mentioned Griffiths is gay or maybe bie and I believe Panama Al Brown was gay with his manager.

Being openly homosexual seems like it'd be a near death knell to most in such a testorone charged "manly" sport.

I've wondered about Tommy Loughran, a life long bachelor , but have no evidence.

There have been a few gay boxers. Not openly so, but a few for sure.

 

Tommy was in all likelihood a happy bachelor, but not a gay one. He was staunchly Roman Catholic -even attending daily mass- and back then particularly, the two lifestyles were contradictory. At least in the bedroom.
