Since their an offshoot of setanta, any chance setanta will be showing it in Ireland?

Positive news but I'm not shelling out for it yet, dont have much interest in hurling and aussie rules.

If this becomes more than a one-off I may invest, suspect this may be a ploy to get fight fans to sign up and then not put anymore boxing on.

They're basically the reincarnation of Setanta. Its £6.99 a month I think but only have Hurling, non-league football, Aussie rules and Aussie rugby league at the minute.

I know everyone loves to complain whether we get these fights or not-if we do, it's too expensive or sky's coverage is ****, and if we don't-we don't so you can only applaud them for giving it a go. It's hardly the most earth shattering of fights, but like with Primetime it gives people an option to watch them if they want.

    Unless they're on Virgin, natch.:tong

Good shout that. And Premier Sports wouldn't need to foot the costs for any production, as that'd all be done by their Setanta brethren.

If thats correct, that is certainly a lot of money to fork out for what is 1 fight. If I was in a financial position where I could fritter away 20 quid I would though, the only way they could afford more fights if they get more subscriptions.

They should come up with something like 1 day subscriptions for fight nights for 3 or 4 quid and see if thats viable. They will struggle to draw in many boxing fans from a Sturm fight alone if you need a minimum of 3 months.

Its still a good step though, we can't exactly expect a multi-fight deal with major promoters to come in straight away, but at least boxing is in their minds.
