Sturm-Macklin II off!

    He recently signed with DiBella. Maybe he wants Martinez to knock him out.

    Why would Macklin take the fight on the terms they offered?

    Macklin took the original fight because people said he couldnt mix it on world level.

    He needed Sturm, now he doesnt, the world saw that Macklin won, Macklins stock has risen, Sturms has fallen, so fighting under the same conditions as before is stupid because the scenario is no longer the same.

    Macklin would be tied into a three fight option if he won (again!) and now that he is signed with Lou DiBella he doesnt need that kind of bull****.

    It isn't as though they've swapped places.

    Macklin proved he belongs at world level, sure. He did NOT suddenly soar into the ether and place himself above Sturm or any other top ten names. There is nobody in the top 10 (nevermind a titlist) he "doesn't need". One fight doesn't bestow that status, no matter how impressed or convinced you got screwed over people are.

    He raised his visibility considerably. He did not become Pacquiao.

    If the fights in Germany I dont blame him. He needs a KO to win.
