Sturm: Macklin won't cut it at world level

I know hindsight is 20/20 but all that matters is my bookie knows I had K Brook and F Sturm by decision last night. :yep

Anyway wtf? Even Macklin himself wouldnt claim he has been in there with anyone world class. Theres a reason they call it European level and British level...

I will say that even though he lost Macklin proved Sturm wrong and showed he can go the distance with a world class fighter. I know Felix isnt the most exciting champ on the world scene but he's paid his dues at the top level. Last nite was his 10th title defence! And as for holding the belt hostage in Germany. He is German and can fill the arenas and the ppv numbers by fighting in his hometown so why not? Are you telling me that if Mack had won last night his next fight wouldnt have been in Birmingham or Dublin?

I suppose Sturm should be having all his fights in Vegas so he can get blatantly robbed like he did against De La Hoya?

What happened in Cologne wasnt even close to being the most contentious decision of the night. That was over in Missouri. Don King is still playing the same game even at 80, if you want to talk about a real disgrace to boxing!

 

Just out of interest, mate, what odds did you get on that? I was thinking of having the same bet and I regret not putting it on, obviously, though I didn't know what the odds would be.

I would fancy Macklin to Win the rematch, particularly if it took place anywhere other than Germany.

What is clear from last night's bout is, Sergio Martinez would Knock Sturm out!

 

I guess that's why Macklin kicked his ass and Sturm offered him an immediate rematch...because he got his ass kicked. Even the Germans thought Sturm lost.
