Till now, Abraham and Sturm (especially Abraham) are talking about a Pavlik fight. When they recognize that they won't get anything near 2.5 million € against Pavlik, the fight will happen. I hope Abe can still make 160 next year.

Wow, didnt realise he was getting paid so well. But then again it was a domestic matchup.

Do you remember what he got for Griffen I? Im pretty sure that was around the time he got the offer to fight Abe and I was suprised he knocked it back.

Don´t know the exact number but on average he earns somethig between 700,000 and 1 Million I think. Abraham earns a bit less. Sturm is still the bigger name over here. If they Abraham-Sturm get´s made and they get HBO ot Showtime to present it in the US as a non-PPV event than there would be enough money to get around 3.5 Million each. Than the fight happens. Sturm has aroun 5.5 Million watchers when he fights, Abraham around 5 Million. So, witha fight that big and some hype I think something between 8-10 Million is possible. So, there is a big market and quite some money to make. Hope the fight happens.

Sturm doesn't want to fight out of Germany (as people says) . . . now the offer is in Germany . . . Sturm should be ashame of himself if he refuses this offer. :deal

BS. Sturm would fight in the US but only if he would earn more than in Germany. He said so many times. He wants some compensation for possibly getting robbed like in his last fight in the US.
Then, the offer is too low considering how big that fight would be and how much Sturms earns by fighting is standard opponents. then Sturm and Abraham are with two promoters who never made a non-mandatory fight between their fighters and with two different TV stations. There are quite some problems to consider.
Saying either one ducks the other is just hating.

    Promoters . . . TV STATIONS?

    Bullcrap excuse . . . that's too lame. This is a unifcation fight we're talking about . . . Strum is contented on collecting I.6 Mil regulary . . . fighting class B or C fighters . . . that might be the whole truth . . . he doesn't want to take risk :D

If he retires today . . . he'll be completely forgotten by tomorrow.

    :rofl

You make it sound like you can just add up the numbers. Are you saying there is NO overlap in fans/viewers for these two?

No, I don´t just add them up. I think when you add up the watchers of a normal Sturm or Abraham fight than you would have around 7 Million watchers but a fight like that with only a bit hype would make quite a few other people switch in. Klitschko had nearly 20 Million housholds switching in, so there´s quite a potential.

Say what you want but politics is what makes most fights not happen not boxers beeing afraid or **** like that.

btw. learn to express yourself properly, the way you write is, well, to put it nice, annoying.

Can't blame Sturm for being tentative in going to the US after the Dela Hoya debacle.... especially because he knows he's not a big puncher and has to rely on the judges in almost every big fight.

Besides, both are huge names in Germany. It would be incredibly stupid to host it anywhere else.

I hope the fight gets made though - Abraham hasn't had a real challenge since Miranda, whom he dispatched easier than expected. And Sturm presents a big stylistic problem for him. I think Sturm has a better shot at beating AA than Pavlik does.

Annoying??? What's annoying in my posts . . . the truth hurts . . . you see fighters throwing out their belts just to make fights that makes sense . . . fights that build statures . . . Dawson being the latest in fighting Tarver . . . and Calzaghe in fighting Bhops . . . and we have paper champs like Sturm who hides under the excuses of collecting bigger money fighting class B and C opponents . . . live with it! :deal

Strum claims he wants to fight Pavlik. But the fight will not happen against Pavlik! Pavlik is fighting Marco Antonio Rubio in Febuary.

Abraham has been calling out Sturm for a long time now, and he always has an excuse. Over 3 Million USD for a fight he claims he wants, but wont take it.
