Will that mean . . . he will fight out of Germany and mixed it up with other named fighters now?

    If not . . . I don't give a ****.

UNiversum is like UFC, they won't to control everthing like Mr white and to make meaning full fights you have to do deals and there not willing to with out total control of everthing and thats why strum is going nowhere and fighting nones, I hear the TV network is leaving them and all there fights are going else where and this is main reason.

No he didn't yet quit at all:patsch He wants to quit but Universum says they have the right to continue with him for 3 years. Count on a lawsuit where Sturm has to win if he wants to leave.

According to German BILD-Zeitung, WBA middleweight champion Felix Sturm says his contract with Universum will expire on November 16th. “I will never fight for Universum again. I’d rather retire.” Sturm is quoted as saying. “Both sides benefited from our partnership. Now I’ve reached a point where I want to stand on my own feet.” BILD reports that Universum apparently has an option to extend Sturm’s contract for another three years, although Sturm is not acknowledging that and his manager Roland Bebak says lawyers tell him the clause is invalid. Meanwhile, Universum issued a statement saying Sturm has not contacted them personally on the issue, but they have a valid contract with Sturm and this will be fulfilled by both sides.

Sturm is delusional about his ability and Universum want to save money because their TV contract with the ZDF ends next year and won't extended

He probably doesn't have a fix minimum salary in his contract for a fight, but some percentage, so if Universum cuts down the budget of a card, he suddenly fights for peanuts. Without ZDF bringing in big money, he has to stage in small halls, circus tents, with budget type aftershow parties featuring hotdogs, and TV coverage by Sky sports or Eurosport II or something like that. Sturms options signing with a big US promoter, or even Sauerland, would be much, much better. Now with Abraham gone, Sturm could be the new Sauerland middleweight stallion, with no competition at all in Germany.

One thing is certain, Sturm isn't a true paperchamp. He could have been the reigning force in MW if he continued his old speed boxing style. Instead of that, his trainer encouraged him muscleing up, getting way slower, lower workrate, and a one-punch-at-a-time approach instead of his formerly superb combination boxing. Bascially his trainer ruined him. Before abandoning the speed, he was never in danger of getting hit flush, that only happened when he started to slow down and trade to suit his redneck audiences.

Others should follow his footsteps. Dzinziruk, Erdei and Sturm all good fighters actually willing to face anyone, but they are being held back and getting the blame for the awful competition. At least Sturm has a very strong following in Germany, the others aren't so lucky.

I could see promoters like Sauerland, Palle or Öner offering Sturm a contract shortly, I don't think him alone is strong enough to do what the Klitschkos could, being their own promoter and making a deal with networks like RTL, HBO, but we'll see.

Interesting to see who and where Sturm fights next.

Mundine is sitting at number 1 but still has nightmares about being KTFO in Germany. :yep

Maybe now Mundine can lure Sturm to Australia....just like he got Kessler down here.

Mundine VS Sturm in Australia would pull good gate and aussie PPV numbers along with Sturms pull in Europe. :deal

Poor little Felix.Who will tuck him into bed at night and give him a warm glass of milk?He is the most protected fighter I can think of.
Like Kessler,I see a nice law suit coming his way that will keep him on the shelf for some time.
