Sturm wasn't protected from Hoya, Masoe, Velazco, Castillejo, Sylvester or Gevor. He is not so much protected, than the victim of a promoter who likes to get his title holders fights against utter cans because the utter cans COST LESS MONEY. Sturm could easily batter Winky Wright from pillar to post, but Winky would cost 2 millions, while Sato probably fought for 20k.

Without being protected by the corrupt Universum company, he will lose in the very near future.

    Hahaa.

Sturm fought bums all over the place in Germany. He still lives from the Hoya fight 1000 years ago. The first Griffin fight was one of the worst robberies ever.He is the total opposite of a guy like Froch.

yeah...if all fighters took that route, no would would ever watch....anytime you justify not stepping up and fighting a real fighter or super fight because you can fight a c-level guy and not have to pay him much is weak and sad for all of boxing....

Sturm says he will promote himself starting next year. Good luck to him.

He's a decent boxer. Let's see if he has the balls to risk his paper belt against some real opposition now. At least he will make good cash then I figure.

Yes, Sturm fought B and C level fighters in his hometowns who could only win by KO. Sturm even needed some gift decisions. How many years did he spend fighting bums?

Universum knew damn well that a fight against the likes of Abraham or Pavlik would be his downfall because he ain't that good. As for Sturm himself, he seems to be dellusional.

His promoter lost their TV contract. Universum doesn't have any broadcaster lined up starting from 2010 on. That means smaller purses and less exposure for all fighters.

I am not surprised Sturm is jumping off the sinking ship. Not sure why you would call that delusional, I would call it totally rational!
